Reading through some possible interview questions for FAANG. One of the ones I've seen on Glassdoor are to design a basic architecture structure for something like Netflix or Twitter or Spotify. I've been researching online using AWS or GCP (still learning all the moving parts of architecture). Any advice on how the setup would be? I'm assuming you'd start with some Load Balancers. For Netflix maybe have different different APIs for signing up vs scrolling through possible movies?

I just had the SVP of Product during our company meeting, tell the whole organization that I'm taking on the complete replacement of a legacy application (I can't even impress upon you how herculean this would be). It's an app I'm intimately familiar with. There was no strategy provided explaining "why," it should be replaced and I was not told about this by said SVP or my boss, prior to the meeting. I'm beyond incensed and overwhelmed. What would you do?

As I read through the posts here, it appears that the pendulum is swinging. 9 months ago, salespeople were changing jobs ever year (or more frequently) to get their next job in the hierarchy. Nowadays, there's a lot of anxiety. This is what recessions/stagflation do - wash out those who should never been here in the first place. The very same phenomenon happens in the cyclical nature of real estate sales.

Anxiety before your sales demos?

Do these 2 things I used to do to get over it:

1. Know the product inside out - it will take time for you to gain confidence in your sales abilities but if you know the product will you’ll be more confident in that domain.

2. Do more demos - the more calls and presentations you do the more comfortable you’ll get. My advice is to try to get on a lot of presentations, even with leads that aren’t so good.

I say this because on my team I’ve created a niche for myself as the go-to tech person and was heavily involved in choosing software for multiple systems supported by Ops. Whenever I hear someone pitch to me about software, I always have to pitch back to my non-tech savvy team about which software we need and why.
