Does BDO offer annual performance-based bonus or promotion bonus? The relevant rank for this question is senior associate (rising to manager). If so, what is an average percentage on each?
I received an offer from another agency (Agency B) that's a 15% pay bump, but I am happy at my current agency (Agency A). I have asked Agency A for a raise to match that (not mentioning I had another offer) but it will take them a few weeks to come back to me, and Agency B are wanting a response soon... What do I do? Do I go for the money? Do I tell my boss I have another offer on the table?
[Promotion & PERM] Scenario1: The firm already sent PWD and did the market test for Manager level, but before they got to file in the PERM, you're promoted Senior Manager. Q1. What's the impact of a promotion from Manager to Senior Manager on the ongoing PERM? Does it void the PWD and Market test? Would need to start over? Anyone went through this? Scenario2: The firm didn't file PWD yet: Q2. Could they anticipat the promotion and start PWD and Market test for SM before your promotion?
Any agencies giving raises right now? We keep hearing the same pandemic-related excuse every week for the raise freeze. I was due for a raise when everything shut down last year, took a pay cut for half the year, and don’t know how much longer I can hold out.
Advice wanted: My firm lied about our raises this year. They said we’d match the other top 10 firms, and that was absolute BS. I’m having a hard time staying motivated. I’m doing senior level work without the title or pay. Fresh college grads are getting paid more than me. I’m already job searching, but I feel bad that I don’t have the same drive as I did before when I thought I would be receiving a proper raise. I learned my lesson. Any advice for a young professional?

I’m a Senior 2 high performer in Tax and am happy with my current job/coworkers. But I know that if I never leave EY, I’ll be underpaid compared to outside hires. I don’t want to leave EY for another firm, because I don’t want to have to rebuild my reputation and network. The thought has crossed my mind to apply to another Big 4 firm and get an offer from them and bring it to EY to ask for a pay raise (essentially say “match it or I’ll leave”). Has anyone ever done this? What was the response?
Is it my firm, or does PA in general have a bunch of talkers? I was told that once I'd start in charging I would receive a raise for supervising staff. I was told that once I passed all four sections of the CPA i would receive a bonus. I was told that the firm would cover some of my expenses related to preparing for the CPA. I was told that once I trained my replacement I would see a promotion. - Everything coming from the partner level. Here I stand now, no better off than I was two years ago.

Just got an offer at ACN as a Strategy Manager and HR made it clear that parental leave was 2 weeks fully paid for men. Theoretically up until 12 weeks is covered by NY State ($900 weekly). What would you do? Have you seen men take a few months off for parental leave in consulting even if unpaid?
