Anyone suggesting individual stocks is silly as you’ll have to monitor it in 5-10 years and decide again. Just buy and forget. Keep adding each year and when they turn 18/21/30/whatever it’s a nice nest egg
Also, if you have to sell, that means reporting, doing your niece’s taxes, and paying taxes, etc. Don’t complicate things. Buy VOO and VGT every year and surprise her at the right age. I know tech has some tough times ahead but if you are looking at long term for a 1yr old, tech is the future.
Also, if it is super important to say you own Disney, then VOO means you own Disney, Apple, Amazon, and 497 other biggest companies anyway.
