How do I launch an insurance agency?
Context: I just started a sales role 3 months ago State Farm. It’s my first time ever doing sales. Huge success so far, (nothing extravagant yet), but it’s only been 3 months. I’m currently selling 50+ policies a month.
I know sales isn’t everything it takes to start an Agency. Where should I try to pursue growth before starting an agency?
Follow Up Question: Is my boss hyping me up or is 50+ policies a month pretty good?
I live in canada and want to move to usa for job in insurance underwriting. I have 5 years of work experience both in broker side and insurer side. Do i keep on applying until i hear back? Is there any strategic approach for canadians as i have to get employer to sponsor me? Liberty Mutual Insurance Marsh McLennan Progressive Insurance Allstate
Anybody know any remote reinsurance roles?
Marsh & McLennan I am moving 2 hours from my office. My manager says i have to come 2 days to office. When i come to the office its only me and couple of other people. No one seems to care about coming to office. When i asked manager if i can work remote i was told that its for my career development. Can you guys tell in Canada which companies are offering remote opportunities?

Are you an underwriting assistant, or an underwriter? You posted under your name not your job title. You just said PC underwriting but that could be a lot of jobs.
If you are a UWA or do a lot of Underwriting data entry that might be a little low but still within range depending on the book size, the business, location, etc.
If you are a UW, that is definitely low and you should look elsewhere.
This is low for an underwriter. Do you have a Bachelors degree? Any solid designation like CPCU, AINS etc? Anything below $60K is low
You may be in the low range, as an acct manager with just under 4 yrs I make $60k
My UWs (10) ranged between $45k and $70k based on experience and lines of business. Homeowners/auto is more automated and likely to pay less. Commercial lines or E&S requiring special skills pay more. 4.5years I would think you should be higher.
My friend is a PC underwriter and makes about $68k, which I think is around the national average. She's been in her position for about 5 years. You may want to have a discussion soon about a raise.
