Can anyone speak to the stress levels of saas sales with a long sales cycle? I can’t tell if I’m burnt out on sales or just my company. A male coworker sent an email mocking the way Black people talk. I know there's no one black way of speaking, but hopefully you get it. AAVE. I wanted to call him out but he's a POC (not Black) and I'm not sure if this is OK as a white woman. Adding to that, he and I are not on friendly terms, in part because of stuff like this. I'm a bit concerned he'd retaliate by going to HR and saying I was being the racist by singling out him. Still, I feel like a dirtbag just letting it go. Advice?

My manager is a woman, and she is always commenting on how I look in front of everyone - and it just gets so weird. Ex: on Zoom calls with everyone, she’ll call attention to my outfit, or to my extensions, or to my make up when it REALLY ISNT THAT BAD! Plus we Zoom with all other guys so it’s like UGH stop making it weird. And it’s never a straight forward compliment - it’ll be like “Hey arent you cold in that shirt?” *attention is automatically on my shirt”.CONT.

Just accepted a new position, which is also a promotion for me (from Senior Designer to Art Director). I’m really excited about this. I’ve been watching re runs of SATC during the lockdown. I used to like this show but recently have found how dumb and demeaning the dialogues and story line is. Like when Carrie is dating a politician and asks her friends to vote for him “because I’m sleeping with him”. They sound so nagging and so brain dead. Funny how I didn’t think that 20 years ago

How do you deal with a coworker trying to push their work on you?

When I started at this company there wasn't much work assigned to me so the office manager/accountant (small company) would have me help her with this major excel document daily. It's very time consuming and requires use of a database-- in short. But can usually be finished by noon if done properly.

About a month after I was hired my boss found out she was giving me work. Which I was unaware he didn't know about, and reprimanded her for it. My workload has increased tremendously after my first month and she was still having me help her with the documents.

I just overheard her step into our bosses office saying that her workload is too much and that she needs help (most likely mine since I'm the only other employee trained to do so. My workload has become pretty insane most days, I don't have room in my schedule to provide her with help but I'm worried my boss will ask me to help to appease her.

My boss rarely comes into the office, and on the days he's out this coworker watches soap operas and takes loud personal calls for the entirely of the day.

How do I approach this if my boss asks me to help her with this task? She clearly has enough time to work on them herself.

LA - Anyone need any nice moving boxes? I don't want to trash them without at least trying to pass them on for use.

Had the most amazing mtg today...I was the only woman on a creative call with 5 men (I am a producer FYI). They were brainstorming campaign slogans...typically I shy away from making creative suggestions, but we were going around in circles so I said “what if it were just X”. Everyone just kinda nodded and moved on. 20 minutes later a dude makes the SAME EXACT suggestion. Everyone flips - immediately loves it. The CD says “that’s the one, mtg over”. It was so surreal I cant do anything but LOL

I’m leaving my agency after two years. I gave my manager six weeks advance notice and he’s upset with me because he feels betrayed. Now every conversation we have is combative. Not sure what to do for the remaining time I have here. I really liked him before this.
