Hi! I’m a second year associate in Internal Audit at a big four. I passed all 4 CPA exams while working FT and I’m trying to find an exit opportunity within the forensic accounting industry. I’m open to trying out fruad, investigations, etc. My current role has me trained to multi-task with multiple clients and topics. I was wondering what I could potentially do to get my foot in the door for FTI Consulting AlixPartners and Alvarez & Marsal? Advice/referral on this would be greatly appreciated.
I suggest you check out DataCamp also
DE1- Thank you for this valuable feedback! It will definitely save me some time.
Because power query has such a wide arsenal of functions, the best way to learn them is when you need to apply certain functions to the task or assignment you have. For example, I had to create a reporting solution that quickly gathered and filtered data from a mess of finance reports to find out if my client is spending too much money on maintaining their services. One channel I found useful in helping me create this reporting solution via PQ is Miranda Tracey of My Excel Learning hub. Her YouTube modules are very detailed and address very specific situations. That way you'll master each function at a time rather than going through pure simulation.

Two 👍 for Udemy. Currently taking Excel class and learning many great things.
Personally like Udemy very much, but it really depends on the instructor as it’s difficult to be engaged to the course if they’re not as good.
Thank you for the feedback. I’ve noticed some of the same instructors and courses on both Udemy and LinkedIn Learning, but the Udemy courses are longer - same topics covered so I’m guessing Udemy may be more in depth.
As some resources consider GitHub and Kaggler.
Thank you. I will definitely check them out. I’ve never heard of them so I appreciate the recommendations.
What's the end goal? I cannot recommend learning sql enough to get your own data.
SFA1 - No, you don’t. If you wait for a teacher you’re putting your future in the hands of someone else on their time. If you’re curious about learning sql, hit YouTube and load kaggle datasets into a SQLite database. Alex the Analyst will give you the basics on how to query simple datasets and then you can develop the types of questions you want to know about your preloaded data.
Udemy has better courses.. with real life applications examples to practice with.
