Looking to get out of public accounting.. any good companies to work for?

When did you know you were “ready” or you knew it was time to go out on your own and start a solo practice? What things should I consider before taking that step? How hard is it? I don’t know where to get started or how to get started. I barely have 4 months of experience working at my firm (just passed the bar in May 2021 and got hired in June 2021). Would you all recommend to stick it out longer and get more experience? Would going out on my own anytime within the next year be foolish?

Boomerang to Big 4?
I switched from Big 4 to a mid-sized firm a few months ago. The sole reason was for for a good pay raise. However, I'm not loving the new job as much, because of lack of resources, outdated technology, and work opportunities are not what I thought. Is it crazy to go back to my old firm? I really liked my coworkers there, and could perhaps ask for a better raise since I left. I maintained good relationships with my old team. Is it bad to leave after only a few months?

Do you think there’s a glass ceiling for out gay employees? I’ve been with my (now) husband for the last two decades and had three positions. I’ve absolutely excelled in each, winning awards, exceeding goals, working well. But with each position, I’ve had difficulty getting promoted. I even took on the responsibilities of a senior director after his firing and I couldn’t get promoted. My handpicked successor — who I think is an excellent marketer — became a director almost immediately.

How many folks here have looked for smaller businesses for exits, trading off size of company for scope of role? What are most effective resources ?

Anyone have leads on in-house marketing or coms jobs, either remote or near Detroit? I’m an AS at a pharma agency who loves coms, 6 YOE, & I am so burnt out on agencies I can’t do it anymore. I have a weird background bc outside of agency stuff I’m also a New York Times bestselling author (lol). Writing / hard work / creativity is not a problem for me — I just need better WLB. Open to leaving healthcare if needed. Thank you!

I'm a RN who's worked in sales for 14 years within the industrial and energy spaces. Yea, I know, super random for a nurse, but I excelled greatly.

I still work weekends as a nurse and would love to combine my business acumen with my education by working for a pharma, biotech, or medical device company.

I've applied for these types of jobs and get nowhere. But when I apply to engineering organizations I get called immediately.

How hard is it to make the swap from MM TAS to Big 4?

I trained on .net and then after I supported .net application. After 3 years I got to work on ssrs reports. We build reports from scratch in ssrs, then I worked on qlik view application. Attended training on qlik sense. My question is for which openings/certificate I have to look .net (I have only support knowledge) or reporting tools like ssrs, qlik view ? I am struggling to choose with the way to upgrade myself.

I’ve been approached my by company (software) that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. This isn’t something my company typically offers and would greatly change the scope of my role. Has anyone ever taken on a role like this? If so, were you able to negotiate a percentage of the consulting fee? Or was it a bump in salary during the project?

I have 8 years of experience with more than 4 years in the current organization. Current package is 9.5 LPA. I have offers with Accenture (14L fixed and 4L variable) and CTS (15.5L fixed and 70k variable) both having more than 75% hike.
In my current organization, I see a scope for onsite assignment (not 100% confirmed though). I am confused of which one to choose - Wheather to stay back or switch to which company.
