Looking to hire a part time admin assistant in a small RIA office. Someone with experience in a professional office who can appreciate flexible hours. How would you go about finding such a person?

I have the exact scenario you are describing and it is working amazingly well 7 months in. I used my community contacts and put posts on their FB pages, Linkedin, etc. i was very open and honest and typed basically just what you said below. Flex time, part time, any time, just take exceptional care of my clients and keep me organized. Ended up with 4 people interested and 2 with financial experience. Ended up hiring a male whose wife is an executive. He has 16 years banking operations experience and is great with clients. He works between 15 and 35 hours a week depending on what we have going on. I say go for it! Throw the bait in the water and see what happens.

I must ask - what is the pay arrangement?

Would it be too much to hope for experience in another investment advisor, broker or insurance office? A CFP or candidate would also be welcome. Thoughts and ideas anyone?

Depending on what you need there are plenty of internet based solutions where you may not need anyone

Your wholesalers may know of people looking. I get requests like this all the time and usually can find someone looking to make a move.

We used ZipRecruiter for our last placement. We got a ton of interest and hired a great individual and it wasn’t very expensive.

PMd you.

Additional Posts in Growing the Team

Interested in hearing about anyone who has added a second full time staff person. Current setup is two main advisors (have a few licensed solicitors) and one main admin. Getting to the point where she has too much on her plate. We have been bringing on paid interns to alleviate some of the stress. Thinking about adding another person but unsure that we need an additional full time staff person. Recently heard an employee per every 350-400k of GDC (advisors included) was a good guideline.

Do you think it would be better to add a female associate to my practice or a male or do you think it wouldn't matter as long as they're qualified. I know sounds like I'm stepping into a mine field but I'll concede a woman adds different intrinsic attributes to a team- on the other hand, I've already got a wife maybe I should steer clear??

Hi everyone, need some advice.
A local b d / ria has an opening for an Advisor. We provide the leads in the form of current abandoned brokerage clients and the advisor just needs to build relationships and grow the business.
In addition he/she would have the opportunity to build and lead a team of other advisors.
For a candidate with 12+ years of experience what would be an appropriate compensation structure (base plus commission %)
Thank you in advance for your help.

WMA would be licensed (3-5 years experience) and CSA would be unlicensed with no experience necessary. Any general advice or advice on how to best find candidates would be appreciated.

I'm adding a brand new FA, probably as a W-2 initially. Any suggestions on compensation?
