Here for the comp comments
Stay for the friendship?
You’ve set the comp low for someone with 3 YOE and that skill set
Chief
Yeah, that makes a bit more sense. Consultants with experience putting together investor presentations usually did a good chuck of the analysis that went into the presentation, and that skill doesn't come cheap. Slide jockeys are easy to come by, but those who can create an investor presentation are not.
65k for 3 YOE? That’s quite a bit less than what a BA out of college starts at…unless there’s a huge bonus/profit sharing part of TC, you may want to rethink that band
If you really want to fit that comp range (80k), you’ll need to find a 1YOE investor relations analyst from industry, poach someone that supports part-time CFOs (eg ‘Silicon Valley’ back office managed services), or hire straight from undergrad. Finding that person will be hard since their skills already scale quickly in other roles and you’re asking them to leave their current role
This person also won’t really understand the models they build—but they’ll be able to build something. And doubtful they’ll have all the desired visualization skills for that role, eg powerbi, you’ll need to be open to them learning. But if you’re looking for a lackey with drive, that’s the right person to inspire for that comp range (65-80ish).
