Anyone familiar with PI Finance group at EY. Trying to understand the type of projects as well as interview process (e.g behavioral, cases, etc.) Thanks!
Does anyone go to AA meeting while on the road? It would make life so much better for me if I could go, but I always feel like there isn’t time or I’m at the client too late
Let’s say you have a project that you charge hourly for. The briefing itself/getting acquainted w the project was a solid hour. Do you charge for that hour?
I’ve been interviewing for other companies over the last few weeks and my biggest fear with leaving consulting is losing my ability to bullshit. I can talk circles around people and really sell myself. Has anyone left consulting and been able to keep this superpower?
Case interviews scare me. I know I’m in consulting but before the interview for my current role I had never done a practice case. When I was prepping I barely ate for 2 weeks because I was so stressed and nervous. I have case interviews coming up for positions I really want and I’m freaking out again. I like consulting but don’t know if I can do that all over again just to *maybe* get the job. Any words of encouragement or tips to get me through this and prepare thoroughly? Anything helps
Is it okay to share private audit clients name during an interview? It’s for industry roles.
I have been approached for a new job opportunity. Its a good company & normally I would definitely go ahead with the next step but I just found out that one of my ex-colleagues is in the same team that I'm being approached for. It would be at the same level. This person was a really bad employee & really ruined the team culture.. The only good thing I can say about this person is that they were smart enough to quit before being fired. I'm apprehensive to even try & interview here. Any advice?
How is Kearney ME in terms of project and wlb vs. mbb and tier 2? I have an offer to join them from Europe and trying to decide if worth the move
For a video interview, does it look bad if I read off a list of prepared questions for the interviewer at the end? It’s a final round, so I have a bunch of back to back video interviews.
Hello ladies! Does anyone have a light coat they love to wear to work? I live in Atlanta so I don’t need anything too heavy, but I don’t want to wear my north face to the client... tia!
I’ve been at EY for about 6 years and I am now applying for strategy roles. I know it’s competitive but things aren’t really going my way. I am getting the roles I am least interested and not the ones I really want. This is more of a rant, because I know the only way to get out of my situation is to keep trying. I am so drained and never been depressed before but I think I am starting to get there because of how exhausted looking for a job is 🥴🥴🥺🥺🥺🥺 Any success stories to get some motivation?
How can one get off a project because the client is delaying system access along with wanting to shift up deliverable submission date? Is this even a legit reason to roll off?
Which project seems more interesting? 1) Medicare Sales Strategy 2) FFV Provider Network Delivery
Hey there! I’m looking into a move from academia to industry. Higher education is a hot mess and my job has no formal growth opportunities. I am not paid competitively for my role or location. Plus, we just got our first raise in 8 years! It was about 2%. I feel like my passion is no longer serving me and the future I want to pursue. Tips for making the switch? I just had my final interview for an IFS research position at PwC.
Do you add people on Linkedin immediately after you have connected with someone in the firm (via zoom meetings ofcourse) to give intros etc.... Does it look unprofessional? I meant you working for that firm and you are connecting with people internally to get a project etc.
So I’m waiting on an offer from one company but they’re taking their time. I’m also entering into or have finished final interviews with 2 other companies. I obviously don’t want to stop those interviews while waiting for an offer. Is it okay or normal to use those interviews to try and speed up the offer delivery? Or is that a no-no?
Big 4 Integration & Separation or Telecom Corp Dev PMI role. Which one is a better option in terms of growth, exit opportunities, work-life? Both offering same compensation and same profile, and I know specific company has specific culture, but still on an industry basis want to know.
Went from big 4 advisory to a lower/MM PE Ops role. Is it worth trying for MBB if my near-future goal is to do portfolio ops at larger PE fund? I’m worried my resume doesn’t have strong enough names
Currently on F1 OPT got my H1B approved in OCT 2020. Am I allowed to travel to India for two weeks in March. Scheduled a visa interview for the first week in March (Chennai Consulate). Will there be any problem while reentry due travel ban??
20+ years in the military as HR Officer with training and education leadership experience. As I look towards transition to civilian sector I’m considering increasing tech experience to diversify my career and provide better options. Full of soft skills and management experience, but few tangibles. I’ve explored Trailhead, but I’m not sure system admin is right path. Any suggestions? 2+ years until transition. Possess a Masters in Leadership and SPHR cert.
Sample interview answers to "what do you do as a strategy/management consultant"? I realize this seems silly but whenever I answer it, it really sounds so vague or like a really mundane job, not sure it I'm just overthinking.
Has anyone sent out a survey about remote or Covid-19 job burnout/employee well-being that they can possibly share the template questions with me? I found the results for a survey sent out at Deloitte but didn’t have success at looking at some of the questions that were used. Any help would be incredibly appreciated!
Has anyone interviewed with Pinterest for product mgr roles? I have an upcoming interview and need to prepare to be tested in knowledge of SQL and A/B testing. Even if you’ve prepared for similar assessments your advice would be helpful (please and thx)
I’m a 2nd year civil litigation associate at a mid-sized firm in south Florida. My dream has always been to go in house but was dissuaded by law school professors telling me not to. I’m at a crossroads now because I’m OVER the billing, but my boss and direct team is quite possibly the most amazing and supportive group. My boss is always willing to let us work remote or take vacations. My question is, is the grass greener on the other side? Should I go in house now or wait another 3 years?
How many points for a fire alarm causing everyone to evacuate the building for an hour at 1am?
I accepted a job from a place my friend works. She got me in and I'd be dropping a title level but making the same $ as my previous role. I accept and 1 day later my #1 on the list came through. better title, pay and benefits. The first company is stoked to have me and everyone is nice. I'm sure on the culture. I reached out to company 2 the week before I accepted this offer and they weren't ready, but now they are. They seem great, but so does everyone when you meet them. What do I do?
Any more word on the PwC Forensics layoffs? It appears to be going on in multiple markets.
I recently started at a larger software company as an AE. As I’m getting more into the process, I’m finding things odd. Like, cold calls and emails are metrics I’m judged on more than closed won business. I know that’s part of the job but it seems strange I’m judged on it so heavily. And, I seem to be the first real outside AE hire as everyone else seems to have been promoted up from SDR roles, including all of my direct management. I’m questioning if I made the right move. Stick it out or look?
How much time it takes to get a project in PWC AC. Also, are there any drawbacks of late project allocation, I've joined here 10 days back.. TIA.
Any tips on selecting a health insurance plan? I’m young, stay very healthy, and have no health issues that I know of but I’m risk averse and feel like getting a low deductible plan.
Thoughts on lateraling as a 6th/7th year at a v10 to a knowledge management role for steadier hours and $300k base? for context, I have a toddler and a baby and am the breadwinner. worried about loss of potentially higher salary bumps but I am drowning at work and miss my kids.
MBBers that made a switch to Big4, what was the reasoning behind it? Vice versa, what have you found different at MBB than at B4? Pros and cons?
Switched from consulting (1.5 YOE) into a more technical role but now I’m at the same level as new grads. Still higher paid than consulting. Did I make a wrong move taking a step down?
