Looking to make a move to either NY, DC or Bay Area.

Currently a manager in accounting/finance at a fintech company. Wanted some insights on the following:
- Opportunities there
- salary and other compensations
- culture/environment
- cost of living in the area (housing, transportation and day to day)
- easy to live in the outskirts and commute to the city?
- how is the support provided by companies to potential parents

Is the comp enough after expenses for a family?

For DC: a one bedroom is between $2,500 and $3,000, two bedrooms $3,500 and up; commutes from/to Virginia are probably 20-30 minutes by car. Metro is great during rush hour not so during weekends. Day care is $2,500+. Prices are mostly consistent along the metro lines and commuting zone. Lots of government related jobs, direct employee or contractor. Salaries are pretty elevated compared to other areas.

I actually found my place off Craigslist a few years ago, but it was a rare find and I know I got lucky (am renting directly from an individual who owns the condo.) Surprised the realtor even posted it on Craigslist, even though it was a rental. I know friends who have had good luck with Facebook Marketplace, of course there's Zillow too. But overall I'd say it takes a bit of searching no matter where you look. Buying can be cheaper and I'm hoping to purchase a place in the next 6 months

Bay Area
Opportunities- all well know tech companies.
Salary and other comp - M2 can make $150-220k total comp, depending on employer.
Culture- depends on team
Cost of living - similar to above comment for DC. 1 bed apartment $2.2-3k
Commute- it should be 20-30 min unless you take up a job in SF.
Is the comp enough after expenses for family - unfortunately no unless two members of family working and family income is $250k+

Hi guys

This question may not be related. However I wanted to know from personal and family point of view how it is like to relocate from India and live abroad .
Let's say Family consists of husband , wife and a kid . I understand we will get good facilities, education, cleanliness , good air etc , however I wanted to check whether people gel up easily in the new environment? Don't they feel loneliness/ difficult to adjust? Do they look for similar asian nationalities to kill boredom?

Just want to know how much are BW/4HANA consultants being paid in the market currently .
I have 9.5 years of experience and my CCTC is 21L (fixed + var).
I am looking for minimum 25 fixed but every call I get they say they cannot pay that much .
Whereas I see in market for almost all technologies people wit 5 year experience are easily getting paid 25+

Admitted to CBS, Cornell (25% $) and Tuck (12% $). Will CBS and/or Cornell hold any leverage when asking Tuck for more $? Tuck has a stronger brand name than Cornell, and CBS didn’t offer any $ so not sure if there are any strategies to structure the ask. I was offered full ride to Cornell last year (but ended up not being able to go due to family matters); is that worth mentioning?
