When is PwC promotion day(s)?
Hey PMs! First time posting, so here goes… I’ve been at my current job, a DC-based start up, for 2 years and have 5 yoe (all in product). Seems like salaries have spiked quite a bit lately - any suggestions on what I should be asking for next promotion cycle? I currently make $130k
EY GDS appraisal system is the worst in the world Let's take mine as example Last year I got progression with exceptional contribution rating This year my performance was as even better than last year with several partner level appreciation and value adds done. But this time I got valued contribution ( no promotion or progression) Reason - last year I got progression and exceptional. Hence they can't give anything this year. I was like wtf dude. Are you serious?
Ahh looking forward to another early 9am rise just to sign into availability and collect my lofty 61k experienced associate PwC base salary. Get a fresh cup of coffee in my New York dumpster apt. I can’t afford. A good day to be an accountant. Anyone else feel like they are getting guerrilla fucked by the big four during COVID? Everyone said death, taxes, and PwC’s base salary raise after year one was guaranteed. Yet here we are no raise and partners smiling saying at least you have your job. 😎.
I have been at a large, well-known agency for a while but thinking about making the jump to a small/mid-size firm for a big raise and promotion. Should I be worried about “prestige?” Will it be impossible to go back to large agencies in the future? Would love to know everyone’s thoughts.
Does a PIP from a year ago prevent promotion even with high performance last busy season? Just finished my second busy season as a staff.
Trigger warning abortion: i want to keep my pregnancy but my Partner doesn’t want to… he wants to wait another year to have kids because we have only known each other less than a yr. We had a 2 hr difficult convo about it and i told him i would need a week to decide although deep down i want to keep it 🥺. Any ladies know what i can do/ say to navigate this?
Does pretty much every company require you to fight for raises in order to keep up with market value or are there companies that exist who are good about paying you your worth? If so, which companies are good at this?
Hi everyone, Does anyone know if there is a minimum number for months you will have to be in salesforce to be considered for promotion which usually happens in Feb-March? And do they promote people before Fem/March too? Actually I am offered a Technical Consultant position but I see on linkedin few people are joining as a Senior Technical Consultant at the same experience as me, so I am concerned a bit... What (if any) non-promotion merit salary increase do you get this year? Assuming no one bonuses anymore.
Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person in advertising who isn't fiercely competitive. I just wanna make a decent living, work hard but not too hard, spend time with my husband and my kid, do some good work... Meanwhile everyone I know through work is constantly gunning for a promotion or moving on. It works for them, but it's not my game. Anyone else ever feel this way? I wanna find my people.
Hi Ladies, would love your advice here. My boss recently approached me a week ago about moving into a new role, larger in scope w/ global visibility, managing more people and in other countries, manage a manager, AND fill the gap in other problem areas. He's told me that I am the only person that he trusts to do the job and they have created this new role for me to help us get IPO ready. The only catch: no pay increase, no title change. What do I do?
I’m pretty down today and wanted a few opinions. I just turned 37 and have been a director for almost 3 years. I had a check in today with my boss and she basically said I wasn’t up for a promotion this cycle. That crushed me because I have been working my butt off to get promoted. This isn’t where I saw myself at all at this age. Not that I’m old but I’m way older than most of the VPs at my agency and feel so behind in my career. Trying to get out of the negative head space but can’t shake it.
My new job has a 100% raise to my current salary with equity and bonus. Feel so good to leave a company that takes you for granted and made you do 2 people’s work that not a single soul in the team is capable of or wants to do. To anyone who feel like under-appreciated at work, being taken for granted, did all the dirty job but the reward is more jobs you don’t like. Start looking for new jobs. NOW. If they don’t care about your career or refuse a raise, you just need to find someone who does.
Can someone please help me on how I can negotiate a higher salary, when a large component of my total compensation is linked to variable pay. I have cleared the final rounds of interview with a company, where the variable component is almost negligible and they're only willing to give a raise over my fixed compensation. PS The variable pay last year at my current firm was impacted due to onset of covid. :(
Friendly reminder to please stop telling your female coworkers that don’t want children “to just wait a few years - you’ll change your mind”. 😡

It's funny reading complaints about work load and travel in consulting. Come on people you signed up for this... it's not like you're military in the Middle East. This is your life embrace it.
Got laid off, found a better consulting job in 10 days with a 40% salary bump and start date in August.... HERE COMES THE SUMMER 🍾🍾🍾
Soooo at today's morning status meeting our shitty SM was absolutely railing a consultant. Consultant stands up and says, "Fuck you. You're an asshole. I'm done here." And walks out. 😳...👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
So what are you replacing your SPG card with?
I may not have a lot of friends but I know I have a few friends I can count on. My mortgage fell through at last minute for stupid reason, and my friends agree to just lend $300k combined cont.
Those of you who could have applied for bschool this year (looking at you management consulting folks specifically who are 2 years in) - why didn't you?

This woman literally just took the wrong transcontinental 1st class seat, my seat, bc she preferred it. And would not get up. FA instructed her to move, nothing. To avoid further delays, we gave up.
