Looking to move to a state that will not mandate school vaccines for my kids. I need more research before deciding to administer it to my little ones. I am not looking for advice on vaccines, just wondering where to move. Somewhere with great public schools so my kids can learn and so I can continue teaching. Would love a state that has great benefits and pay for teachers.

Come to Iowa!! We believe in choice

likehelpfulfunnysmart

Oh, like the choice to be recorded or be fined part of your salary each week? https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/iowa-bill-require-cameras-public-school-classrooms-rcna14789

Vaccines should never be mandated. You are the parent and should be able to make decisions about your child with your doctor. You can get exemptions most places but it is easier in some states/school districts than others. Make sure you look beyond the state and to the district as well.

likefunnysmart

Texas, true. I think a booster for COVID like the flu should be available each year for new strains, and it seems in the endemic phase, there will be new variants.

Ummmm no mandates in my state at least that I know of. Look for Republican governors.

Good luck with that

Please don’t move to New Jersey because we like vaccines here

This jab is not the typical one (which has always been an attenuated (dead) part of the actual virus, allowing your own immune system to create antibodies) This current one is a new technology with no long term studies, which according to the government data (VAERS - vaccine adverse event reporting system) has killed and injured tens of thousands. In the past, when 25 were injured by a vaccine, it was immediately pulled from use. Why is this still being pushed when it isn't even affective in stopping the vaxed from getting or spreading it? Shady And why did the CDC ask the courts to give them 75 years to divulge the contents of the vax.... why the secrecy as to what is in it?

Let me try to understand this. You want great benefits for teachers but want to work in an environment where you are exposed to every contagious disease possible? Teachers (especially those early in their careers) are susceptible to catching every little bug possible from their students. That only grows exponentially if the students are not vaccinated against things such as measles, mumps, rubella, whooping cough, tuberculosis, polio, etc. Thanks to vaccines, we have seen the incidence rate of many of these very serious diseases fall and become almost nonexistent. However, in countries without a well vaccinated population, we have seen their return.

If you truly do not want to vaccinate yourself or your children, then please do not enroll them in public school. I might add that many private schools also require vaccines. We have more and more children and students who are unable to receive vaccines (chemo patients, transplant patients, etc) and exposure to those who choose not to be vaccinated endangers their lives.

likesmarthelpful

Elementary school substitute, by today’s standards, you would probenecid considered unvaccinated. Kids today get more vaccines before kindergarten than we were required to get k12. When was your last mmr or tb vaccine?

Fight the unlawful mandates. “Our lives begin to end the day we remain silent about things that matter”

likefunnysmart

Cms Not true. I read 7 studies that say that the vaccinated are cluttering up the hospitls with covid and side effects related to the vaccine.

Florida is mask and mandate free. If you move here, make sure you vote red otherwise we will become California.

Ironically- I’m not vaxxed - get tested every week and I’m one of the few teachers in my building that hasn’t been infected with the new virus. Almost all the teachers in the building have come down with the virus in the past few months. All of them have been vaccinated 2 or 3 times
Confession- I’ve had Covid twice last year. Was lucky to receive treatment from an out of state relative for the first infection. Best stuff ever!!!The second one was mild.
The point is - in NJ they would rather you die than allow docs to treat you with medications. They push the vaccines here like it’s candy!!! We are inundated with tv/radio vaxx ads. We get robo calls at least once a week telling us where to get vaxxed. It’s all vax all the time!!!
Meanwhile there is very little information being circulated about what to do if you get COVID It makes me sad. Doctors tell you stay home and if it gets where you can’t breathe go to the ER!!! Really??? There are therapeutics that when taken in the first 5 days or so, will stop the symptoms and clear up the virus. The therapeutics save lives - yet in this state they aren’t allowed!!! Just keep getting the jab. You still get the virus, still spread it and yes- vaccinated can still die from it. Knew someone who did.

And don’t get me going on mask madness!!! We’ve totally lost touch with reality in this state!!!
Although- someone is making a ton of money on this!!! It’s just craziness.

I’m embarrassed to be associated with a profession that is all in on this crap. We are supposed to be educated people and yet we ignore the facts and studies and research about this virus. We would rather follow our political leaders who continue to fail us miserably!!! It’s sad that rational thought has been taken out of education.
So stay away from NJ. Far far away!!!

It sounds like you live in So Cal!

Home school does not require vaccines most places. I would home school my kids so they will actually be prepared for life.

I think many of you have oppositional defiance disorder. You don't want the vaccine because your being told to get it. If you were told you couldn't get it you would say how dare we not be allowed to have the vaccine. Your reasoning is irrational and illogical. How many of you have had diseases like small pox and polio. What life threatening diseases have your children had? What are you crying about? You don't have to get the covid vaccine. If you don't want it, don't get it, shut up about it and deal with the consequences of you decision; just like the people who choose to get it.

IES3, that wasn’t a journalist that wrote that article. It was Johns Hopkins University medical school. One of the most highly respected medical schools in the country. SMDH. Your ignorance and refusal to correct it are truly frightening.

I’ve lived in numerous states and every one required students to be vaccinated. I even had to prove vaccine status for my undergrad and graduate universities.

Cross all blue states off the list first. In ca they're now talking about trying to add the covid vac to the list of school vacs. Interesting that they didn't propose the flu vac too since kids more often GET THAT.

Covid will become an endemic soon, hopefully. We need to learn to live with it. Like the flu shot, a Covid shot will probably be recommended as an annual shot to strengthen people’s immunity.

Is that the SI's call, though? At least in NY that's a decision made by above the district level.

How about virtual schooling? As much as I hate to say this you will be hard pressed to find schools that allow vaccination exemptions. They are looking at maintaining as safe of an environment as possible to ward off any future problems like law suits etc.. I am sorry you are going through this but encourage you as a parent and fellow educator to do what YOU think is best for your children! Best of luck!!

likehelpfuluplifting

California isn’t going to allow exemptions unless it’s for documented medical conditions. Too many people abuse exemptions both medical and religious which is why I think it’s a good idea that they aren’t granting them unless you can provide documentation

My previous manager would track us by hours daily, made a fuss everytime anything stretched and guilt us for that and the unplanned leave too unless it was COVID. Hinted him a lot of time, this is problematic but apparently he considered it "standard practice for agile".

Now 8/10 teammates have switched within < 1 year of project start (6-7 months with him) which tbh had good work in our opinion and even team was fun to work with even though none of us ever met in person.
