Agreed on Andersonville. If you want to be in a more “suburban” area, then maybe Evanston. You’ll be fairly close to Andersonville from there but if you’re commuting into downtown for work it just gets to be far.

Logan square, Avondale, humbolt park, Ukrainian village. Anywhere is going to be gay friendly, but if you really want a “gay neighborhood” Andersonville is it, though it’s pretty far north if commuting downtown.

What essential in stores and atmosphere are you looking for? That is just as important. Blindly I would vote with what was said above, Andersonville

Looking through the lens of having a toddler, Evanston is a great community and you can probably get more space than in the city

Boystown. It’s fabulous! Darling.

Thank you everyone! We are going out in a few weeks to check out all of these areas.

I currently live and grew up in oak park and I think it’s great. Evanston is the only other burb I was willing to consider once I had kids and left the city.

like

Andersonville! We love living here, a great community. Family + gay friendly.

My vote is for Evanston or Rogers park / Edgewater / Andersonville. But having a kid definitely Evanston for the community, space and ease of getting into the city. I myself live in Evanston and absolutely love it.

Can anyone speak to how easy it is to park at commuter trains to get into chicago in oak park and Evanston if you’re not walking distance?

The firm pays much better (1800 hours, flexible wfh) but I feel like the experience in house would go further in becoming a GC down the road. Please help!

After 6mo of successful WFH protocol/productivity during this pandemic, Havas Edge Carlsbad had their agency deemed “essential workers” w/ two days back to work notice, no exceptions. Edge has already had a Covid case and SD county is back to high-risk “purple”. Protocols for testing/return to work were unintelligible at best , misleading at worst. Havas should be appalled given their national stance on safety of workers and embrace of teleworking as the future.
