That’s way too much to pay in NYC right now. There are like thousands of vacant apartments, if touted getting a realtor I would tell them $2800 and see what that gets you.

like

You are** (not touted) NYC realtors are starving right now, I wouldn’t tell them 3600 because that’s probably all they’ll show you. Also wouldn’t hire a realtor right now but that’s another story.

Downtown by like Wall Street

If you’re looking for a high rise elevator building but still want to be downtown Fidi is the spot, however I wouldn’t say there’s much culture down there. It’s really just office buildings and apartments

like

Gramercy! Great location, close to great restaurants in flatiron and east village, but has a nice neighborhood like feel. Also right next to Union square for trains and farmers market.

West village

like

Or east village

like

Go on street easy and find buildings you like. I’d suggest west village or Williamsburg so your on the water and have access to outdoors. Once you find those buildings, contact owner directly. Ask what other inventory he has. When you find what you want, ask for three months free off asking price.

Hell’s Kitchen

Yeah now really is a great time to get a lease locked in. Agree the Financial District is fantastic, lots of affordable new luxury buildings, easy subway access, and it’s incredibly quiet on the weekends and nights which IMO is great. DM me and I can share some buildings to look at!

like

Williamsburg! Great apartments by the water, and some phenomenal food options and definitely great culture too. Feel free to DM me. I did quite a bit of research on NY real estate for investment purposes.

Agreed. Greenpoint is also hip and calm

Murry Hill!

like

Murray Hill is not good - its full of 20 yo frat boys on week ends. You can def do better.

Tribeca

UES / Yorkville has a lot of good stuff. Great bars, etc, but doesn’t feel like college

Sky, silver towers, oskar, 435. all in the Hell’s Kitchen and Hudson yards area. Or look on riverside there’s lots of high rise luxury buildings on the upper west

I have a 1Bdrm in Brooklyn (Crown Heights) and pay 2650, I have around 1000 sqft. 6 minute walk to the 2345AC, and can get you downtown in about 20 mins.

Wow that sounds amazing! My definition of large was 700-800 for NYC
