Looking to network with MBB for potential lateral. Better to reach out to partners in different markets who are friends of friends or reach out to my actual BA contacts in my home market?

Several people reached out to me about switching to BCG with 1-2yr experience. Not ideal timing.

@D1 total comp is that, not base salary.

Unless you're a partner or close to that in level, I wouldn't reach out to them to network. Leverage family and friends to find consultant level people

True for all MBB?

@bcg1 can you provide a little more detail. Interested to hear

McKinsey solutions might be the one exception

Well you come in as an associate (undergrad) or as a consultant (post-mba). With 1-2yr experience you won't come ins as a consultant. So you're in the same pool as the fresh undergrad hires. Which is like starting from scratch. Switching after MBA is smoothest.

But MBB associates get $90-95k start. Some of us here are still stuck in $70Ks. I guess that's still going up even at Associate level

What does McK solutions do?

ACN start at 85k...

Yeah I'm also talking about total compensation at Deloitte. Advisory folks might be starting even lower

Op. I think McK will take you 1-2 years out. I am not sure about BCG.

If you're less than 2 years out just as post-undergrad level, you'll likely come in as a new start, maybe you'll get 6-12 months tenure credit

Second this: we're hiring more experience hires than we used to - and by that I mean it's gone from ~0% at my office to closer to 5-10% of Associates at my office. Equates to 3-4 people total. The pathway is just much more geared towards getting people out of undergrad, or other postgrad (MBA / advanced degrees)

McK starts at 80k for BAs

Pre-bonus right McK1?
