Looking to open a brokerage account that offers great financial/retirement planning tools as a part of having account - preferably non-managed, but don’t mind managed (up to 0.50% fee) if that’s what it takes. Any suggestions?

Fidelity and Schwab

General brokerage, although Schwab as a robo advisor that charges a % fee. Not sure if Fidelity offers a similar service — I just use the regular brokerage account.

Find that fidelity has a lot of fee free funds and there are even 3-4 that are 0%. Schwab also has their own funds and the interface is nice.

Both offer checking accounts with free ATM withdrawals. so great if you want an all in one banking solution.

Question re: salary. I’m thinking about accepting an offer at a small (4-6 attorneys) transactional firm. I would primarily be working on NDAs for clients. The role sounds great (no billable hours, fully remote, flexible hours/ can work from anywhere); however, the salary is $70K. I’m a new attorney, with only one year of experience. Does this salary seem low? If so, any advice on what someone in my position should ask for?

I have major doubts that my in-laws have enough saved for retirement / it seems they are planning to rely on SS despite currently living a pretty lavish lifestyle (brand new house, luxury cars, routine spa appointments, expensive dinners, etc.). Curious for some advice…

I currently have a Cap One Venture card. I have had it for a couple of years now but I am interested in upgrading to a Venture X card.

No promotion has been offered to me to upgrade my existing Venture card to a Venture X card.

Should I wait until that promotion is offered to me? Or would it be dumb to apply for a Venture X card separately and a) hold both cards or b) close out the original Venture card.
