Looking to pivot into project management. I have been in recruiting for 10 years and I don’t like the instability in this field. How many recruiters had success pivoting into another field? I’ll love to hear your thoughts!

Sure I just started a new job as a project coordinator in January .
It my first job in clinical trials technology position prior to this I was in dentistry for 32 years and it’s taking me a lot to learn all the ins and outs of data analysis and some of the tech talk.
I’m very grateful to have the position because it took me 2 years to find a job! I just wish I could perform better and know my job a little more intimately.

What are some non-industry books that have made you a better strategist? Or even genres that you tend to favor to expand your thinking?

I’m in Tax, and will finish my CPA hopefully by the end of the year (2/4 passed). I’m 31, 5 years of exp in PA, 2 at B4; and I want out. I’m looking to move into the finance world. Equity analysis looks really interesting to me, how can I break into this field? Do I go get an MBA? Do I just start writing analysis on a blog and hope someone likes what I have to say? Recently, i was "promoted" or, I should say, my title was changed to the next ring up the ladder. As a part of this, I went from reporting to Senior Management, to Junior Management. The Jr. Manager has good intentions, but, is not helpful. I've worked at the company longer, have accomplished more across multiple lines of business and have a much stronger internal network. Am I overreacting thinking this is a major slight that will ultimately slow down my growth within the company?

I need an advice/suggestion here. I got an offer from 2 different organisations and choose one among them (Role: Analyst) because of the culture and benefits. And the other offer has a good pay and good designation (Associate Consultant) rather than the one I choose. Now i feel very low due to this decision that I took. I don’t work in big law, but some of my classmates,who are going into big law, are bragging about the low number of billable hours they are required to hit. I’m hearing 1,600-1,800 billable hours. Is this actually true? Are some firms paying Cravath and only requiring 1,600 for the year? I know it depends on the firm, but can anyone actually confirm this is their experience? If so, then I’m a little jealous 🙃
