Looking to shift from litigation to corporate roles. Considering these difficult times, does it make sense to take a corporate in-house paralegal position within a large company?

The goal would be to use the position as a foot in the door to this new practice area. It has been difficult to land a job within litigation, let alone switch practice areas. Thoughts?

I doubt a firm would hire someone with a bar number as a paralegal. They would assume you'd leave ASAP for an attorney role at a similar firm.

Side note: I got paid law clerk gigs during 1L and 2L summer by applying to paralegal postings online and convincing the hiring partners to give me a shot

I second A1’s cautions.

Also, don’t count on learning as much as you think you will. In the role you’ll be playing more admin. If the company needed substantive legal help, they’d hire an atty. You might get to flex yourself atty skills from time to time, but it might not be as often as you’d like.

You might be better off looking for a role that spilts your current skills with developing new ones. It may take a while, but the jobs exist. I can speak from personal experience and being in a similar area change.

Hey all! I majored in journalism and spent a couple years as a reporter before pivoting into PR/comms. I’ve been in this career for almost 5 years now, but have been at smaller orgs with little grasp of comms/PR the whole time. I’ve had some successes, but no real mentoring. It’s mostly been me playing around with trial and error. Lately I’m feeling stagnant! I could use tips on getting noticed by more comms savvy companies where I could really learn the trade.

Hello All,

I got selected in WIPRO and today I got to know they are offering me SAP Successfactor Learning-Lead position.

I am a SAP ABAP on HANA consultant and my interview was also based on my area of expertise only not on Success factor.

Does any one here know about this position in WIPRO. If yes kindly share.

I think they will be giving me Band B3 (correct if my understanding is wrong). My HR round is tomorrow. What is the expected CTC for this band.

There have been a lot of posts in the law and big law blog about legal recruiter comp. It seems to range a lot (saw second-hand info from $60k to over a million). Also saw someone say the “average” recruiter makes more than a 5th year biglaw associate (which I think would mean $400k+). Can anyone provide ballpark numbers? Considering eventually moving to recruiting, but couldn’t leave to do it for $60k.
