Looking to start working with a recruiter for the first time in the near future. What are some red and green flags I should be aware of while looking to find one that will align their search with my career goals? It may seem a bit grandiose, but looking to work with one who wants to develop rather than score a quick commission. Location is mainly SoCal or remote roles in California that wouldn’t require relocating.

How important is education/pedigree when it comes to starting a fund and raising money from institutional investors? I know that the main focus is on prior deal experience and returns, investment thesis and to a lesser extent governance, company infrastructure, etc. but I’m specifically curious about education. Is a JD/MBA beneficial in this case or is pursuing a MBA still the optimal choice as you will still more than likely hire outside counsel? TIA

Good morning!

Still trying to figure out this whole Fishbowl thing, so here goes my first post.

I would love to get into provider credentialing, but all employers I've looked at want at least 3 years of experience. So, I'm looking at remote Provider Network Coordinator roles, because I'm finding some of those roles don't need AS MUCH experience. I'm a RHIT, and have been working in healthcare for nearly 10 years.

Any advice on employers is appreciated!

Low billable, low pressure work in privacy law? Slowly realizing that as my boys get older, the money isn’t worth what I’m missing out on. Currently a tech litigation associate with lots of hearing, depo and trial experience (I’ve appeared on my own at hearings/depos) at a well respected firm. I have limited privacy experience despite being hired for that reason… Have my CIPM and CIPP/US /E and /C. Remote preferred; hubs is pilot with cool intl transfer opportunities. Money isn’t issue.

I’m a newer registered nurse (2 years) and want to get into remote work. I keep getting denied due to lack of experience but to even get the job I have now (case manager) the company knew one of my family members and they gave me a chance to interview because of that. For these remote companies where I don’t have connections how can I transition over?

As expected only the C- Suite will fill their pockets by 50-60% increment just like last year where the CEO got 54% hike but for employees they have 6-8% that too on CTC not on Basic Salary. They are the biggest liers even last year they gave 4-8% increment for Rating & 3-7% for Pay Band.

PSA to all associates: having been around the block, I hate to see the notion being sold that recruiters have information about positions that are not listed. When it comes to lateral associate recruiting between big law firms, the vast majority of firms post all their positions online. It makes simple economic sense because then they get more associates applying. The whole notion that recruiters even have deep connections to law firms is also usually garbage for associate recruiting. Continued.
