Looking to take my career in a different direction. Seems silly but does anyone have an advice on Professional careers that are not a desk job 100% of the time and offer a healthy work/life balance? I like to juggle different tasks in my day and stay busy. Being stuck behind a phone is my biggest fear. Looking to make Atleast 60k! I have years of management, customer service, and sales experience.

I have a quandary to share. My work exp has been tech heavy, starting as a software developer for 8 years; outgrew that. Then for the last 4 years, DevOps, specializing in the Cloud, IaC and GitOps. The tech parts (sans human) feel empty sometimes, and I want to try out transitioning into product. As DevOps, I have loved my share of helping internal customers (dev teams) as well as being an advisor. I love unsticking people. Is it possible to market that for job desc that asks for mgmt exp?

Thinking about changing paths but this will likely result in a pay decrease. Any advice for people in this position?

I worked at a large insurance defense firm for 4 years out of law school. I really enjoyed the work itself, but the hour expectations kept increasing and I was getting burnt out. I decided to try a new type of law and have been at the new firm 3 months. I have way less responsibilities and none of my own cases. I’m worried this was a wrong move/too far of a step backwards. I know I don’t see myself here long term, but I’m not sure how long I need to stay to avoid looking like a job hopper—help!

I was waiting on confirmations from other folks (all of these will be with friends/fam), which is why I forgot. I’m worried that if I share this with her now, she will already think poorly of me and that I’m trying to get away with abusing the benefits (unlimited PTO). Any advice? Am I thinking too deep into this?
