Were you ever asked to burn your PTO and work just because your chargeability was not priced to win the work??? Happy Holidays yeh..!!
We risk exposure and bringing it home to our families every time we walk into work, yet are limited to time off work without penalty. What's your sick leave policy?
How did you all handle like a family matter or traumatic event that happened while super busy at work? I’m finding myself being very unmotivated and unable to focus, but feel like I can’t take time off.
Is it possible to pass REG in a month of studying? I am going to take vacation about 2 weeks before the exam as well.
Has anyone used Turo for car rentals for personal / vacation rentals, and if so any takeaways? Recommend or not recommend? Things to watch out for?
Should I work a bit during holiday break to get my areas in good shape or just say f this and take time off because audit is going to get done no matter what. I inherited messy area from a person who recently left the firm and leadership was saying we (as in I) need to put in extra effort to close down review notes that the previous girl left (there’s about 89 open as of now lol)
My boyfriend of 3 years broke up with me yesterday (he moved back home recently, we were doing long distance, and he decided he wanted to focus his time on rebuilding relationships with family/friends he lost touch with). Do any of you have tips of coping with heartbreak while also trying to manage work? I have too much on my plate to take time off, but I’m worried my focus isn’t going to be there on Monday.
When you’re planning for PTO, do you ask your managers if it’ll be okay to take time off those dates or do you just give them kind of a heads up?
“So we’ve cut their pay, axed most of their friends, what’s next?” “Ohhh ohhh, their PTO, but make it seem like it’s a good thing”
Notice etiquete question. If you give your 2 weeks’ notice on a Monday, is your last day a Monday (2 weeks later) or can it be the previous Friday? Does your answer change depending on the time (morning/ afternoon) notice is given? If I don’t want to potentially burn any bridges, should I just have my notice period end on a Monday and just take that day out of my scheduled vacation before starting my next job? First time giving notice - would be interested in hearing what others have done.
2nd year in and having gone straight from undergrad to banking, cant imagine what it feels like to have a “normal job” (i.e. 9-5, weekend free, no work on vacation, can unplug completely off work)
Went to kids holiday party using Lyft. My son gets car sick easily so I warn the driver right away. Lots of traffic + he breaks pretty hard = my 2yo threw up 2 blocks before we get off. 5 min later ..
Just got back from the cook islands and looking for my next island vacation. What is your favorite island to visit? Best sand beaches? Good snorkeling or diving?
AA staff denied my boarding through One World Ruby (even though I showed her my Privilege Club card) very unprofessionally because it doesn't show on my boarding pass. Gotta love holiday travels.
Teachers leaving school on Friday’s and holiday breaks 😂😂😂 https://www.instagram.com/p/CTxwMgdDEzN/?utm_medium=share_sheet
I received an offer from one of the MBBs (Analyst position - banking benchmarks team). The offer briefly mentions that I'd receive performance bonus, but doesnt mention any range (% bracket). Nor does the compensation structure has any component of Performance Bonus (which is usually a part of TC) Should I ask the recruiter on this? What to do? Thanks in advance!
@Accenture sharks: I am currently in the process of interviewing for a Consultant role in Finance Transformation in NYC. What should I negotiate for in terms of salary? Any other advice on the interview process? Honestly, from how much I make right now, it feels wrong to negotiate up to an increase of more than double.
How’s the consulting work life balance at Big 4 in Europe Do folks work more than 45 hours through the week and is it normal to have to work on weekends?
FAANG good MBB bad, am I doing it right
I am currently on STEM OPT and planning to ask my company to apply for H1B for me in January. I was wondering what happens if I switch jobs in January - will I be able to switch H1B sponsors as well? Very new to the whole H1B process so any help appreciated!
I’m a tech consultant working in the SAP practice. I’m a second year associate. I have decided that I don’t like the culture of consulting - work more hours, always add more work and responsibility to your plate, etc. I would like to work a job that is more 9-5 that doesn’t expect you to work in so many different things at once. What industry roles should I be applying to? Is leaving after 1.5 years too soon?
Should I leave consulting to go into a product strategy role at a big bank? I’m at a crossroads here
How accurate is Glassdoor when it comes to Deloitte Senior Manager salary? How are signing bonuses at that level?
Leaving VC in SF after 4 years, spent 2 years in IBD. Got industry offer for Director level role in strategy / Corp dev M&A at a late stage pre-IPO unicorn (Series D+) at a MCOL city. 200 base, 20% bonus, additional 40k/yr options. So $280K range all in starting. I’m currently making $250K in VC here in Bay Area. Job is in a MCOL T2 city (Boston/Dallas/Austin/Chicago) so I won’t be living in expensive Bay Area. Evaluate my offer please!
Tuck vs Ross ($$) goal is MBB or big tech
Are there some things or types of work you all did at your firm that might help with MBA admissions? Beyond the actual “work”? Thanks!
Can anyone at Accenture share TC breakout and ranges for L3 Managing Director? Also how many levels?
Am I good enough to join MBB? I am a degree apprentice for a big 4 consultancy, with 1 day off for study (management degree with the Open University). Once I complete my degree, I hope to join either McKinsey, Bain or BCG as a generalist. I will have 4YE working as a (non-strat) analyst. As I see it, my greatest obstacle will be getting an interview given my lack of a prestigious education/good upbringing. Grateful for any insights on how I can maximise my chances/if I have a chance at all.
How are those people experienceing hoemelessness being impacted by COVID-19? Has anyone seen any data?
My supervisor is nice to me and generally gives me good feedback when we talk 1 on 1. But then she sends me critical emails with the Principal copied on them. I’m a little confused on how to navigate this. I’m a new senior too.
Has your SO ever told you not to come to a family and friend event after being invited ? If so how’d you navigate the situation. Context: dating 1+ year and you’ve been a good quantity of people at event
Planning a trip to Maine with my gf- any recs for places to see, things to do, etc.? We definitely want to check out Portland and Acadia National Park
