Looking to transition from Insurance Sales/Account Management to technology sales/account management, what online courses would help me break into the tech world?

Some advice I'd like to give you from my experience making the switch into SAAS is to apply for roles that you think you are well suited for even if you dont tick all the boxes. I have gotten pretty far in interview rounds for roles that I didnt have all the minimum qualifications/saas experience in the job posting . Just be open about it and explain how you are working on or planning on working on the gap in your skills/resume.

What key words in my resume would help beat the algorithm? I am changing my resume to fit the job description but im not meeting the tech sales experience portion

like

None really from my experience. If you’re sales savvy and know how to hustle and organize, you’ll do just fine. I came from non-sales background but I know how to work and keep track of multiple tasks so I excelled quickly. Almost quadrupled my income in 4 years. (ISR1 - AE2)

Sales is about persistent, polite harassment. I’d show them you’re hungry by being consistently in their ear. These days with online applications and automated resume rejections you’re going to have to do what nobody else does to get what nobody else will!

Maybe ask the recruiter if you can setup a 15 minute weekly call to recap progress on submitted applications and discuss any new opportunities. Let them know you’re serious.

Another way is to highlight what software your current org uses and connect with recruiters at the same or similar orgs and share your interest in selling their products as an experienced user..

We currently use Salesforce's ECRM. Any tips on how I could highlight that to catch Salesforces attention?

Definitely take a look at some different sales methodology out there: consultative sales, solution selling, command of the message. Having a perspective and belief system when it comes to outreach and client management will make a different if you don’t have tech AE experience.

like

I wouldn’t mind hearing some feedback on this as well

Focus on common transferable skills. What skills are you bringing over to tech? It’s really just sales. Focus on sales methodology and be persistent and curious. Everything else about the product is just noise for the first few months.

Just apply for a SDR position..most of them are entry and no experience needed. And then move your way up to account executive.

Hello, fellow newbie here 😀
Was wondering if yall know of any remote sales jobs with a good starting base salary? I'm doing great at my current role selling senior health insurance (76k give or take a year) but I know I'm capable of selling at a higher commission range. My calls at my last company were all cold (around 100 a day). I got job offers as a recruiter and also a few SDR offers but both fields the base is under 45k. I have a four year degree and one year of sales experience. Thank you
