Looking to transition into industry from B4 (3rd year manager) working on federal Corp compliance and provision. Currently moving along in the process for a tax manager role with a large corporation for tax manager position. Would be looking at a $20K raise, however it appears to be an individual contributor role (no one underneath manager). Has anyone made a similar switch and can share experiences?

I’m well liked around the office, I put in the hours and work hard, I haven’t had any dumpster fire projects, but I am a mediocre performer compared to my peers (not as strong project management, communication, not as confident).
