Looking to try and start my own CPA firm. Any tips or advice. Have 6 years of experience plus CPA.

I'm an in-house counsel at a national company. Our GC is leaving. I’m the only other in-house attorney, and I’ve only been here for 4 months. I like the job. Previously, I was a 6th-year associate.
The CEO asked me to stay and implied a larger role, but doesn't have a clear picture of what that looks like. Asked for my help in redefining. Even unsure as to timing or whether we'll hire another GC. Questions for Fishbowl: (1) benefits or pitfalls? (2) questions or requests you'd have for CEO?

I’ve been an LPN for 8 years, predominately in pediatrics, both in patient and home healthcare. I’ve worked in medical offices for 10+ years before that. I was looking to explore options outside of bedside nursing/direct patient care, do I have many options? Hey friends! So I left PwC (risk assurance, did a bit of consulting) about 4 years ago for industry, and have been working in supply chain ever since for a major retailer. Recently, a recruiter from Protiviti reached out to talk to me about open roles in supply chain consulting, and I’m trying to decide if this would be a good move or not. I was interviewed in Feb this year and was confirmed verbally by Oracle. Also sent docs for BGV. Later was told that the position went into freeze due to budget constraints, and will be lifted in 3rd week of May. Now HR is asking to wait until 2nd week of June. Meanwhile I joined another company but would like to consider Oracle if they come back with positive news. What are the chances of releasing the offer?

My company has given a choice on WFO and WFH . Few of my colleagues and my Manager are going to office but I have opted for WFH. I feel I am getting alienated and not able to bond with team. During Teams call they crack jokes and have a camaraderie which I miss. Also all of them log off by 6 PM as they return from office but I need to log in till 8 PM for client calls. Will all this impact me in the long run?

Situation: got an offer from firm X; highly likely to get a better offer from firm Y but official offer would take a couple of more weeks in best case scenario. However, firm X’s offer validity about to run out. Would you: (1) accept X’s offer now but rescind later if Y converts (2) ask X for additional time to decide (they’re “prestigious” and may not offer additional time...) My boss just gave their notice (3rd boss in 2 months) and told me to get a new job based on “mud within the executive level” of the organization (~5 years, 2 rebrands, etc). Looking at the recession expected to hit Canada in early 2023, I feel stuck; hiring is slow everywhere but jumping ship now means I’ll be the “last in the door” at most places.
