Looks like I need a c section...any recommendations on belly binders and underwear post birth would be appreciated!

I didn’t have a belly binder (& now kind of wish I had). My doc said to be cautious of those as you don’t want to create an environment for infection. So I defer to those with experience. As for underwear - Granny Panties time. You want nothing that sits on or comes close to that incision. Good luck!

I bought huge granny panties, which worked well. Midwife recommended against binders as they keep you from rebuilding stability in your core.

For the first week post c-section the only underwear I felt comfortable in was the disposable/mesh underwear they provided at the hospital (I asked for a few extra to bring home). Since then I’ve loved the Breathe High Rise Bikini from Gap.

I got a lot of extra mesh underwear and used for the first two weeks with a nightgown or robe. To me it felt better to let the incision area be as uncovered as possible.

Dr ordered one for me in hospital that I took home - nothing fancy but worked well and free

Just get some big, comfy undies that don’t hit at the incision point. I don’t do a belly binder either because I was worried about infection. Once I was good and healed, I started light core exercises and slooooooowwwwwllly worked up to my old routine. It wasn’t fast but it was effective.

I used a belly bandit bamboo binder after I came home from the hospital. The one in the hospital worked great too. I had no issues with the site getting infected and the binder helped me sit up from the bed more comfortably and relieved some back pain probably because it encouraged good posture. I don’t know if it helped my stomach go back to flat but I wasn’t super worried about that. I started exercising 8 weeks postpartum a couple of times a week and my belly is largely flat 5 months out. I have no idea if the belly bandit should get any credit for that, I don’t think much if any.

Random question - I had a vaginal delivery the first time but second may require a c section. I had a lot of vaginal bleeding after birth, as normal for a vaginal delivery. Is that the same after a c section or do they kind of clean your uterus out for you when they remove the placenta?

🙏 Thank you

Hate conference calls that drag on for hours.

Post with company

Project is asking me to travel the week my wife is due to have a baby or else get an exemption from HR. Is this normal or is my firm just not supportive? KPMG if anyone is looking to join.

Consulting firms should just kick everyone out without an MBA -- be more like MBB. Also, shitty, peasant MBAs are out too.

Hope my manager doesn't mind me quietly rapping in the corner of the conference room as I churn out these slides.

I still find it odd when I travel to a city that has a full service gas station and someone pumps gas for my rental car... Looking at you Ewing, NJ.

Trying to think of a boat name that's consulting related. Currently have "Onboarded," "The Bench," and "Directionally Correct." Thoughts? Others?? Puns guys!!

Off Track. The new episode of Walking Dead was the worst yet. And I have to attend an early morning meeting.

You must be a consultant, cos I'd fully utilize you

What sort of silly things are Ph.D. consultants are known for when they first get started ? Anyone with first hand experience ?

Has anyone thought about what would happen if Fishbowl gets Ashley Madison-ed?

I think I've hit the threshold where the number of foursquare checkins I have at airports went from being cool to depressing.

Best city/suburb to live in the US? Looking for good public schools, temperate weather, outdoor activity options, not overly expensive.

I'm not a rich man, but is 250k a lot of money? Sure in some parts yes, but not in major cities. If u make that much on ur own, ur doing well. But it's not hard to make that with dual income. (Cont.)

Is writing thank you notes/emails not common for millennials? Considering dropping a candidate because they didn't take the time to send a simple thank you.
