I came to the US 7 yrs ago as an intl student, escaping a very abusive household. Lost 2 immediate family members since. Much of my time here I've been food/housing insecure but I got my degree despite evrythin aftr 6 yrs. Waited another yr for a work permit. I've been job hunting for an analyst role for 5 months. Zero interest from employers. My major was all over the place:ENGR->Game Design->Digital Media. I yearn for financial independence. After everything, now I'm losing faith. Reaching out

I’ve always had a full time job (10 years) and I recently took a job as a contractor/consultant for a bank. It’s a 40 hour week hourly job. Is this considered freelance? I read the other posts and I see people are double dipping taking on multiple contracts, is there other work out there that I can layer onto this job in the off hours? I figured all gigs would be 9-5. Is the reason people do contract work for the $$$ I’m making $75 an hour and not sure what my role would pay if I was FT.

Currently negotiating compensation GC role for a real estate developer based on NYC. They have about $500MM is AUM including new hotel in Times Square, a 10-story B-office building in Chelsea and condominium project still hinder construction in TriBeCa. Guys I just received a final round interview for Deloitte Strategy and business design role. It will be my third attempt at Deloitte. I really want to get it this time. I had to get a hysterectomy at age 39 due to endometriosis (stage 4). I’m 42 now & greatly suffering from menopause. One doctor said that going on hormone therapy greatly increases my risk for endometriosis to return and become cancerous however another doctor told me this isn’t an exact science. I’m getting conflicting answers to whether or not I should do hormone therapy and it seems like I can’t get a straight answer to this question. Does anyone know anything about this?

Went to an annual checkup with new doctor which I found through ZocDoc.

ZocDoc claimed office/he were in network. Office also clearly stated in-network / advertises Aetna coverage.

Claim came back as out of network now facing a $700 bill for a check up that I didn’t even need (learned nothing useful). Anything I can do?
