Los Angeles folks who are not allowed to WFH, given the recent “safer at home” order, is anyone going into the office tomorrow?

Hoping to help my wife out. She’s a school counselor and would like to career pivot but isn’t sure to what career. Any suggestions? She would like a remote job and thought maybe HR would be a smooth transition but she’s open to suggestions. Also, she would love a fully remote job. TIA.

Anyone get a work from home stipend? Is it unreasonable to ask for one when I’m using all of my own equipment, supplies, internet, phone, etc?

Currently have a full remote job ~$150k, (pay cut from $180 pre covid). The last year I’ve been traveling abroad ~8 months a year and stay with family the remainder. Nomad life is wearing on me and I want my own place with an office space/desk, and a fitness routine. Is it worth giving up the flexibility and renting a place in NYC? I fear I wouldn’t get much of an apartment for ~$3k/month.

Fresh thought for agency leaders who are looking to upgrade their creative dept, BE OK WITH REMOTE...forever. You are much more likely to grab some top award-winning creatives if you allow them to work from their couch. The first thing I’d do if I were someone like Dan Lucey would be to go after allll the good creatives in LA and SF and hire them remote FT. So surprised we haven’t seen agencies be more OK with this. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Any firms “subsidizing” the costs of having a home office during this extended WFH period? My firm PwC announced a $250 payment to everyone to make up for any home office purchases (not that you had to buy anything to get the $250, everyone gets it regardless). Curious what other firms were doing.

CTS : No clarity as of now, only thing I am aware is that I’m a part of full stack community. HCL : Some clarity on the project but less package than other two. R-Systems and CTS are giving same CTC. Has anyone taken a fully remote job (aka it’ll be remote post-covid)? Any regrets or advice? From the physical standpoint, I know you can rent out spaces so you don’t have to wfh all the time but I value camaraderie. At my last new job I started during the pandemic, I was able to make one work friend and we’d do Zoom lunches and stuff. It helped to a degree but idk if I can last 1-3 years never working with another person in-person.

Working from home, with my 2 little ones because I cannot afford childcare. My mental health has suffered so much & I am so unhappy. I feel so stuck and resentful. I just want to cry, all the time.

Anyone aware of any job hunt website or recruiter where it's easier to find full remote (like international remote) tech jobs?Those were rare to find but I am hoping the pandemic might have prompted more employers to offer these.

So why haven’t women lawyers formed their own network of large law firms that aren’t the hell holes that (apparently) are present-day large firms? We could prioritize all the things traditional firms dgaf about - remote work options, vacation time/PTO, reasonable hours, maternity leave, childcare options, etc.

Is it unreasonable to ask a new job to include language in offer letter regarding hybrid work? I want a guarantee that I can be remote at least 3x/week. Scared that they’re just saying it’s fine for now and will likely continue, and then boom one day management will decide 5x/week on-site required.
