“People in Toronto are really loving this billboard right now.” Why? Just why, NFA? I’m not sure what I’m more upset about, the creative or the obvious attempt to make a bland piece of creative something people care about by pushing advertorials about that bland creative that makes it sound like the next coming of Benetton.

Something tells me all the virtue signalling is more of a desperate attempt to generate PR to find new business leads (or be invited to pitch) rather than motivated by altruism. The execs who run these places use the same old bag of tricks rather than question how their existing business model can't even cover payroll for a couple months even with the promise of government subsidies. It makes you wonder if they've been playing a shell game all along. I work at an independent agency and they guaranteed no layoffs or paycuts for 10 straight weeks since shutting down.
I know one of these got reasonable severances.
But "what's being done to support people who aren't employees?" is also a naive take. They owe us nothing.
Great question. I’d assume pay cuts across the board happened a while back.
Have other shops had layoffs other than the ones mentioned above?
