Hi All,
I joined Tech Mahindra for 5 days only and didn't find suitable timing for my project and emailed resignation mail to manager and HR. After that HR asked me to resign over portal but at the same time blocked my portal. After requesting many times they didn't unblock my portal and pretended like they want to unblock but there is some issue going on and marked my profile absconded. I have cleared fnf but they are not providing reliving letter but added pf amount also. What to do?
I have an offer as Technical Manager in Mindtree India . I have about 12 years of relevant experience in Java application development and mentoring and team leading. They said it is an onsite role with Mindtree Germany ( already done with client interview). My India salary is decent as per Indian market standards.Any idea how much will they offer me as Germany salary for the onsite role? Is it the same like other MNCs - TCS , Infosys, HCL,Wipro etc? Or how much I can ask? Mindtree

So they are just asking you to leave the project. Happens all the time in consulting
DS1 totally with you

Sorry you have to deal with that, OP. Hang in there. It shouldn't be that way.
Give another project a chance, it may be better for you. If not, at least try to coast while you get acclimated to being a working parent. It takes time to settle in. Then you can feel more comfortable with looking for a new place to work if you must.
Best wishes.

SC2 you didn’t answer the question. How else could it be?
I mean did you expect you’d come back and everything would be the same as the day you left ?
We’re hiring…
SAP 1 not at all. My team in EY had an SAP team and I was a part of the digitalisations and cost optimisation team, I also managed a portfolio worth USD 1 billion all while being in the same team and working under the same partner. I’m sure if someone from the SAP team asked for a transfer to my team their get it quickly (although the hours will be longer and work will not be routine so you can’t really use a hammerhead approach). All the best
Honestly wish that happened to me! My backfill did a crappy job and I ended up coming back and feeling like nothing got done.
The law on FMLA is that the company is legally obligated to reinstate you. You have the right to return to the same job with the same compensation. The way this plays out in consulting, where you keep the title and the salary but you may have to find your own work (and if you don't, they'll get rid of you) is legal but it's not keeping with the intent of that and it's incredibly stressful for new parents.
DS1, you make it sound like new parents will get fired if they can't find a project asap in consulting. Meanwhile, being on the bench (regardless of the personal circumstances) is totally normal. When I first started, it was normal for new hires to be on the bench for 4-8+ weeks. Would love to know what companies are firing new parents for not finding a project asap. You seem to have a personal hatred for consulting in general.
Also would love to know where you're getting your information. "Not wanting to staff new parents"? Definitely not what I've experienced and everyone was more than accommodating.
That’s complete bullshit. First of all, I am surprised you have to sell yourself to a new team. Don’t you have staffers whose role it is to place you on teams? As someone who has had two kids in three years, The firm work to make sure that the cases I went back to were sustainable, allowed me to use back in, and set me up for success in my career. Anything else is not valuing the caregivers in your company at all. I’ve seen this support for both moms and dads as life with a new born is rough, even if you get 4 months.
Deloitte is bleeding talent for a reason. Call them on it and start looking elsewhere if they aren’t going to support you.

Sounds like a win
It would be normal to me if a person going on parental leave is rolled off. With the good long (well deserved) parental leave policy at D, it would difficult to manage any other way. The new parent can come back and join a new project as they start a new life as a parent 😊
I do not think there would be any sort of discrimination against a new parent. At least not wide spread.
For ref, I am a dad with 2 kids and can appreciate the parental leave option.
They could’ve fired you upon return. Guess it’s a win
Come on over
A true meritocracy
Benches are light. Keep your head up kiddo, something will pop up.
This is not a joke. The timing of this post and the scenario described leads me to believe I could be that backfill. Regardless, I didn’t want it this way.
No one is firing you or coaching you out. There’s still stability. Being on the bench and finding work is part of the job. Your project is always liable to change—for anyone this is true.
I think the bigger question is are they supporting you to get on another project.
