Friends - I am looking for the perfect fit for a Manager role on my team! The right candidate has experience with measurement of owned social channels, influencer and earned. Bonus points if you have social listening experience or you love to stroll the isles a certain retailer when you’re feeling sad.

I’d suggest interview, follow the new job lead until offer stage, then shop the offer back to your company to see if they could get you a pay bump? It’s a pretty big delta to close the full gap but perhaps any pay raise from your current role could make you feel better about sticking around. It depends what’s most important to you, and you’ll never know about the new role/company culture unless you investigate.
I agree with this move. But be careful about bluffing. I've been burned once this way.
I was in the same position in 2015: I was doing great work and learning at my job at the time, and enjoyed my coworkers. Recruiters reached out though, and I was curious. Through that process, I ended up finding a job where I made literally double what I did in my last role.
It wasn't the same title, so not apples to apples, but it was a literal life changer. That role then allowed me to continue to elevate, and probably much faster than if I had stayed.
A mentor at the time helped me feel better about the shift by saying something along the lines of 'smart/capable people end up doing well almost anywhere they go - this isn't special', and that advice has proven 100% true since.
It sounds exciting.
However, do your due diligence & make VERY sure that the extra $$ is not “combat pay” (i.e., that you are being paid a lot more because the client/assignment/situation is almost unsurvivable). I’ve been that situation. The gig is over in 6-12 months & then you are looking again, or going back to the place you are now…but viewed differently.
55% higher is game changing. I'd take it in a heartbeat unless your current employer is offering something major to offset the sacrifice you're going to be making by staying. #KnowYourWorth
If you don't have an offer yet, I'd not worry about it but still go through process maybe you get offer and change your mind
You could always ask you employer about doing a comp review of your role. Many companies are currently doing this and moving their level-setting their current employees, meaning salary increases and re-titling.
