I work for a CPA firm, 45-50 employees, and we're looking at expanding our benefits package. Right now, we only offer 2 or 3 weeks vacation, 1 week paid sick time, healthcare, 401(k) with profit sharing, and Life/Long-term disability coverage. No dental, no parental leave, no ST disability, no EAP etc.

Could anyone else in this industry, or in another professional services industry, weigh in on what benefits you offer and which ones are most popular?

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

Has anyone’s company bought out by a private equity firm before? My company is in the process of being sold to a private equity firm and I’m not getting all the answers on what’s going to take place after the sell or what they’re expecting of us during the sell? I am at a department of the one. Family owned company for over 50 years fairly new to the company so I’m not sure what direction should I just jump or should I ask for more money looking for advice on what I should do this is new to me!

SPHR exam- has anyone ever been “randomly selected” for an application audit? This just happened to me and the sheer amount of effort that is going to go into collecting all the documents almost makes me not want to follow through. Since I didn’t finish undergrad, they’re asking for a copy of my high school diploma or transcript and that itself is going to be an absolute nightmare to get hold of. Guess I’m not really looking for a solution here, just venting.

Has anyone bought/ done the HRCI Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion in HR Management? I already have my PHR, but I’m looking to gain more knowledge/skills and beef up my resume. Is it worth doing? The course is $239 and you get 12 Recert credits with it.

For those of you who are SHRM CP certified. Can you please advise if the SHRM learning system is worth it? Are there other effective learning tools that are less expensive ?
