Love when privileged white republicans try to use the race of a political office holder as a means to contort which policies are beneficial for Black people as a whole.
you weren’t funny - just laughing at you op!

I think Biden clearly expressed the official party position on this.
Enthusiast
Yeah, if you’re not voting for Biden, then you “ain’t black”
Chief
Don't worry, it's got nothing to do with race. The Black democratic congresspeople equally think the GOP legislation is crap, regardless of if Republicans got their _only_ black senator to speak on it.

Isn’t having your sole black member be responsible for your legislation the very definition of tokenism?
If the republicans were serious about this issue, why wouldn’t they:
1. Have included their senior members to work with the one black guy they can trot out whenever something like this happens so it doesn’t become a “black problem”?
2. Allow for debate and amendments?
3. Can’t we say the same exact thing about the republicans and their unwillingness to consider the house proposal?

And why didn’t Republicans try to promote the past bills their sole black senator drafted dealing police reform when he first introduced them four years ago?
This only makes sense if you believe minorities get more privileges based on race.
OP, what exactly are you talking about?
Tim Scott is a senator and the Senate is controlled by Republicans. If anything got thrown out, it’s because of Republicans. And if you expected Democratic senators to support whatever Scott proposed because he’s a black guy then refer back to my original comment.
Haha...you really got the Democrats goat on this. It also reminds me of the videos of all those white Democrat protestors trying to tell the Washington DC black cops about BLM.

Is it official Republican Party line that specific minorities must be allowed to speak on specific topics?

According to Joe, you ain’t black if you don’t vote for him 😉 We can’t have black people think for themselves. Cancel culture for all things that involve slavery except for the good ol Democratic Party, which actually supported slavery.
I’m not quite sure what the you’re trying to accomplish with screenshots from a snap story, and your senate article basically proves my point that black members of congress were republicans until the parties switched ideology.
The president tweeted his supporters chanting white power this morning. But the democrats are the problem

How are democrats blocking their first amendment rights?

I would assume this has more to do with having a voice in crafting the legislation than speech.

The argument "I'm X so I should make the laws relevant for X community" falls apart the minute you substitute the word Pedophile. That's why this doesn't happen. Laws are to regulate against self interest and ensure equal justice for all.
Chief
Yes. It's an extreme example to prove a point. You could replace it with anything. Cops. Wall Street. Anything.

And one of the Democratic party leaders made a racist remark directed at Senator Scott, too.
