Starting to look for homes- $650K gross income with minimal debt and Nerdwallet is saying a a $2.29M and below home would be “affordable”…that seems super high to me, am I wrong?

Hello everyone, I have posted before about a situation I am in with a potential employer. I received an offer from a hospital, I accepted it with the director, signed some paperwork for a background check and sent it back. It has been 3 weeks so far, the person I spoke to said HR should’ve sent me consent forms already, I’ve dug through my email and found nothing, I’ve reached out to HR as well but they won’t speak to me since I am not an employee. What do I do? I’m stuck in limbo.

I have been a CCA medical coder for my hospital in Oregon for 8.5 years. I have been only been doing outpatient simple visit coding and my supervisors have basically stopped me and another coworker from advancing. We don't have any room for advancement and we are basically stuck.
Im nervous for reaching out to other companies to see if I can get a better offer and advance my career. Im nervous because I am a single mother of 3 and have been at my hospital for 14.5 years.

E.g. what if you leave to a competitor even when respecting the gardening leave / non poaching etc? What if you are let go for underperformance (but haven’t breached any rules / done anything unethical etc). Or what if you’re let go simply due to eg the fund reducing headcount or your team?

Upper management's direction is to put together the most aggressive deadlines we can. If we think a project will take 16 months, make the plan for 10 months then there's a chance we may launch in 13 months.

There’s a strong demand for laterals now; and I am thinking about going back to private practice because current salary is substantially lower (about 40% lower) than what I can get in private practice. Has anyone here thought about going back to private practice for the salary boost?
