Hi fishes, I've joined TCS on 9th nov as a 2 YOE .Net developer. Since past week I'm getting project interview calls, I have given 3 till now, not selected in 1 and not sure in other 2. I've followed up with the interviewers about my interview , both said that they have given their feedback to their managers and if there is an requirement I will be called up. I am little worried seeing all the layoffs going on...can my employment be in danger upon failing in project interviews?? Tata Consultancy
Hi guys
I am working in Tata Consultancy kolkata from past 3 years, planning to get transfer to TCS Bangalore(hometown). Will there be any issues if I provide fake medical certificate for my parents? Also now they are forcing me to come back to kolkata office, is there any possibly they may let me work from bangalore office even if my project ODC is not there in bangalore?

I️ do. However, I️ think it actually matters what your title is. If you are new analyst or post MBA new joiner, you haven’t really ‘earned it’ (totally getting there are lots of it depends). I think Sr Manager / Director / Principal types can do that price point confidently. If you are cracking into the 40k range, you better be a partner!
Personally I wouldn't know the difference between a $100 watch or a $10,000 watch! There will be people like me who don't care at all and there will be people who know what it is. Get a feel for your client and partners, see what they wear or if it comes up in discussion... but clearly I have seen staff wear $800 Louboutins so 🤷🏼♀️
Very very very few people will notice or care.
My watch is a $10 Casio. I’m probably gonna get fired.
E2 has 4x my annual salary in watches...
The people that can tell the difference probably have one too. Wouldn't worry about it.
No one knows or cares
Whatever floats your boat man. No one would bat an eye if you rolled up in a $100k car in LA, but could cause a stir in the heartland.
If it’s not super flashy no one will notice
What kind of watch? If it’s a royal oak or something, I highly doubt anyone will notice unless they’re a watch enthusiast. I wear a sub to the client site but my clients staff all have high end luxury goods so we bond over it. I wear a more subtle watch if I’m meeting a client for the first time
Thanks everyone. It's a Daytona - not super flashy but Rolex is known by everyone (not just aficionados) so I want to tread carefully. These responses give me a lot more confidence to wear it on a more regular basis.
I routinely wear high end luxury watches. I have a pre moon Omega Speedmaster, a white gold Daytona, a IWC Portofino, and a Patek World time in rose gold.
True. 1% of 1% will notice. Those that do, will wonder and come to conclusions.
No one in the US notices. I wear AP, VC, Patek, etc. to clients. Only time I’ve heard a snarky comment was to an associate wearing a Rolex. America isn’t really a watch culture, so wear what you enjoy.
You're totally fine with a Daytona. Worst case scenario, some low level manager makes a comment about how they're paying the consultants too much. Best case scenario, you bond with an executive over horology.

I have a Rolex GMT Master II and a Rolex Sea Dweller 4000 that I wear regularly while at the client site. Most will not notice at all. I caught an executive staring at it once and he clearly knew what it was. That’s one person that clearly noticed in literally hundreds of meetings over the years.
No one will notice. You do you.
The answer is to be aware of your client first. Then flash the bling if it feels right.
Personally wear a swatch. In a client meeting once partner had to ask me the time because he didn’t wind his Rolex.
Enjoy your life man. Wear what you damn well please.
