For those of you that are freelancers - do you run into this issue constantly of people asking for holds without telling you what the project is? I don’t even know how to approach this because if I respond back to ask for details and THEN say ‘it’s a 2nd hold’ it’s pretty obvious I’m not interested enough to give a 1st hold. But I’m also never going to give anyone a 1st without details - don’t producers understand this when reaching out? I really don’t get it.

Had an interview with Hexaware and 3 days back HR1 called me and said she will send the offer letter next week. 2 days back HR2 called me and said a client interview is scheduled for you and I attended that. Now if I fail to clear the client interview round, will I not receive the offer letter that is promised by the HR1?

I’m a first year and fucked up big time. The client doesn’t know about this but a senior associate was furious. I know it’s 100% my fault but no one above me actually reviewed my work bc everyone was so busy. But then I found out the senior gave a rant about how I fucked up to another colleague. When I apologized to him, he was really salty. Since then, my heart drops every time I see his email bc I’m too scared. He is usually pretty emotional and his instructions are vague, which doesn’t help.

A new analyst has joined our team and we often give them models/ slides but don’t always ask them if they know all of the accounting principles to be able to make minute adjustments to EBITDA or free cash flow. We are a FIG platform, so the knowledge required is relatively unique as well and not as easy to google as corporate transactions. Is there a better way to coach the analyst short of just throwing them in the deep end to figure it out or should we wait for them to ask us for help?

With Biden's new tax policies my salary is what puts us over the $400k line, as Hubby's is the better job with better benefits and stuff. Looking for unbiased advice from Big 4 partners. As an experienced SM at EY in the pipeline for partner in two years, would I be better off jumping ship to another Big 4 now (delaying the promotion for at least a year or two in the process), targeting a direct admit role at a mid tier firm or staying put knowing I won’t make nearly as much as a MD in NewCo. I’ve talked to several partners and none of have been able to articulate how us heavy SMs aren’t getting screwed over.

I'm a Manager, at 40+. Just late entrant at Big4 no other reason. Love consulting, know won't be excited in the industry.
