M2 in PA and thought I’d stay here for atleast director but have reevaluated my career and would like to exit into PE or more strategic roles with a view to C suite. What compensation should I be telling recruiters?

I exited PA as an M1 in early 2021 in HCOL area. I started around 120k base, but this was before the market and comp really heated up. I’m expecting an adjustment any day now and would think I’ll be much closer to $150k base. Middle market PE shop with a manager title

Trying to orchestrate a career pivot out of accounting. For 5 tough years self employed. Stellar ed, GPA, and past accounting roles. MBA. So smart about so many other things, but my own career/future. And so many amazing jobs I've applied for - in a sellers market. Nada. And the thought of a potential upcoming recession means, what, I will be 60 when I will have my next shot (I am 44 at the moment.) How do I keep going? Wife just gave me a 3 month notice to get out. What am I doing wrong?

I need some insight on my salary. I've been working at a large insurance brokerage for 14 years now and am a Senior Account Manager. I service a book of around $1.5M and am doing all the data entry side of the job plus client facing service without much, if any assistance. My current annual salary is $78,500. I've recently found out from someone who left the company, who was in an entry level account management position, was making only $20k less than myself. Am I being fairly compensated?

I was offered a DPO role at $215k + 15-20% bonus (no RSUs)… I asked for another $50k to the base or I walk. They said sorry. So I walked. I feel great about my decision. I have other offers on the table that pay $300TC. BUT if I didn’t have the other offers, what would you have recommended to do? Do agree that $215k base + bonus is too low?

Hi everyone,

I spent 2 years at McK in Asia, currently doing in-house strategy at a bank. I am hoping to return to consulting, targeting ME region, especially Dubai and Doha.

Exchanged some email with a McK recruiter, but haven’t heard back since I sent them my CV.

1. Is there a hiring freeze in ME at McK?
2. Is anyone willing to refer for BCG or Bain?

If you had a choice between Jones Day and Schulte, which would/should you choose and why? It’s hard to look pass the ranking/prestige of Jones Day but they are black box whereas Schulte is lockstep and a funds specialist firm which could lead to GC roles at a fund quite easily in the long term. That’s not the long term play here, but just stating a fact to consider. Also keep in mind I would be lateraling in from out of state.
