Do it for a short while and try to come back

That makes me feel better. I know a few people that have come back. You never know what it took to do that.

Can you try to get a counteroffer from your current employer? It could be the best of both worlds. And do you have a particular reason to think you won't be happy at the next place, or are you just scared of the risk of change? Finally, chart out pay from the better career path. A 40% bump now could be outweighed by stagnant pay after that. Pick based on 5 year path.

Do you need the money? If not, don’t do it.

"Need" is relative I think. I have zero debt and an emergency fund. I live way below my means and save over 50% of my check. But, because I was a moron earlier in life, I have very little invested for retirement. I'm aggressively playing catchup. Additional 40% on top of what I'm doing already is a huge acceleration that could maybe bring me some peace of mind in a few years.

Is your current salary and potential earnings in your current company enough to support your desired lifestyle? If yes, stay. Otherwise, weigh the risk of ending up unhappy in your new job

I currently save about 50% of my check. I'm super frugal. My goal is to save up and invest for retirement. I'm behind on doing that.

Mostly fear is the unknown and risk. I've had nightmare jobs in the past. I like my current job. I seriously doubt Accenture would counter offer at all.

Can’t help but feel invisible in my current situation- I’ve been pursuing a transfer for over a year (within my same group) and even though I’ve repeatedly asked for help and pulled in directors and partners —I keep getting pawned off to different people. This has cost me a promotion this year although I’m a high performer and my pay is at the high end of my bracket. Meanwhile, white colleagues are getting promoted each year (unheard of). I am told that i’m getting paid well so to be ‘happy’

Hello Everyone! Had a discussion yesterday regarding “claw backs” being included in a policy for sponsorship if the new employee leaves before 3 years. It was a declining percentage over a three year period. My POV was that it wasn’t something I’ve ever done and didn’t seem like they were sure of the hire they were making. I get wanting to save costs but at the same time doesn’t feel inclusive or welcoming. Thoughts? Have you done this or seen it work? Thanks!
