Made the switch to Pharma from consumer. Can anyone provide me direction on where to find reading materials, blogs etc. to help me learn more about the industry’s rules and regulations specifically for digital advertising? I’d like to be more familiar with them before starting my new job. TIA!

I’m a Canadian citizen but I never lived in Canada.
Currently in 🇨🇭 and planning to move to Canada for the experience. However it seems that the salaries are super low compared to the US or Switzerland. Is that because of the high taxes? Does $82k in Vancouver/Calgary allows you to live decently or am I gonna struggle? Current TC USD92k (CHF83k) and it would take a big hit by moving to Canada. But at the same time 🇨🇭 is one of the most expensive countries in the world.

Defense attorney here. Currently annoyed at having to take appellate action up to state Supreme Court level on general personal jurisdiction bc judges either cant differentiate from the specific personal jurisdiction analysis or are protecting plaintiffs counsel. Is this an issue on a national scale?

Trying to lower housing costs / find housing that is affordable to me in the longterm by buying multi family FHA and using the rental income to cover the majority of the mortgage while living in one unit, but FHA appraisals always ruin the deal (rental income comes in too low). Not sure what to do anymore bc every multi family house in my city has this issue. If you have real estate expertise in this area (or in other low cost longterm housing options) and can offer advice, please DM me!

For those who have survived a recession in this industry, can you tell us recession newbies how it went? Is pharma as recession proof as we are lead to believe?

Honestly I don’t think agencies are going to exist the way they do 15-20 years from now. The way they operate is designed for burn out for employees. I’ve worked at a total of 5 agencies across Chicago and NYC, and things end up always being toxic and the work life balance is just not sustainable nor justifiable when I look back. I mean look across this app and see what people post in regards to advertising, we deserve better.

Been offered an ACD position (promotion) at another agency that offers much better work/life balance BUT the ceiling on the offer is $155K. I know it’s not all about the money but that seems wildly low. Yay or nay?
