^ depends whether or not his juniors are terrible. Could also mean he does *EVERYTHING*
Thanks for the advice, looking to lateral as we speak. Feedback from seniors was it’s your job to make sure every number is right (I’m an analyst promote). This is soul crushing and not developing my career while other analysts go home before me.
Great time to find a good Corp Dev job
Good luck man. Sounds like you’re in a tough spot. Btw when you’re deep in the weeds, what’re the associate and analyst doing? I hope they know they’re performing like dogshit. As long as you’re giving them training, their lives should suck even more than yours if you’re stuck cleaning us their messes
^ hit the nail on the head. Juniors are terrible. If I don’t go into excel and check every cell something will be wrong and I will be chewed out
Oh Jesus I’ve been there. My advice would be to make sure you’ve got a sense for life with a better team before you decide anything. The VP years really can be relatively stress free. Even lateral if you have to. The only reason to quit would be if you can’t see yourself on the sell side in the long run
Elite boutique so lean deal teams. Don’t have an associate since VP1. Analyst is dogshit and nothing I can do to make him better since our firm policy is not to fire analysts. It’s just hard to motivate someone when they don’t care and know I will clean everything up, with zero repercussion besides a bad bonus
Idk what the F is going on at your shop but if I’m in the office and leaving before my VP, I know something is wrong
Why...should be easy no, no? You don’t actually have to do the work yourself
