Majority of my department has been informed we will need to look for other positions internally due to our jobs being outsourced. The timeframe for the full transition of all work to the vendors is approximately 6 months. This is the second time in 14 months I have had to look for another position due to outsourcing of work. Since I can only work remotely for my company due to location, is it best to resign or to hold out in hopes for a transition to another department?

I would start looking for another job ASAP and would not consider resigning unless you have something else lined up.

If company really wants to retain you in another department they would make that clear sooner rather than later.

Sorry that’s happening to you 🙁 Given that this is the second time in two months, you may want to consider getting into a new career field altogether. Good luck!

Start looking for another job, and - unless you find something that is a good fit - hang around to see if you can get a severance package. (Note: if you haven’t been at the company for more than a year, this won’t necessarily be valuable to you, but if it’s been several years, it might be.)

Trying to move from manager to director of a team that I’ve grown over the last 14 years. It’s a very small team, but impacts almost every deal the company makes.

I’m concerned they’ll say the salary bump I want (25%) is too high, however I see comparable roles with other companies for $175 - 200k.

I’m at $120k, asking for $150k.

Any suggestions to help make my argument, or does this salary even make sense???

Hi, after doing project and program mangement for 6 years I joined EY GDS last year with high hopes, but soon I realised that nothing is done at EY GDS on the name of project management. It's just about charging as many hours as we can simply as any other resource. Not even basic project management in followed. Projects are undertaken and wrapped up somehow. So I am planning to move out and need help for referrals.

Generally happy with the cases I’m working on at my current firm and I love the other attorneys I work with and partners I work for (for the most part). Compensation would be the same. Mostly considering the move because things are so disorganized at my current firm and I end up pulling a ton of unnecessary all nighters, and I have virtually no administrative support.
