We're a one income family (makes more sense financially now with the exorbitant daycare costs). How much should one be saving towards retirement? My finanancial advisor is basically saying I meed to max out contributions to 401k and Roth but how does one do that on ONE income with young kids? Mortgage is less than $1k/ mo with eacrow and cars are paid for. We don't spend much other than for necessities and 1-2 trips/yr. I'm getting really discouraged.
