Currently entertaining an offer but there were some misunderstanding (primarily on my part) of being aligned to an office in a city which I don't currently live in. I was thinking that given the current remote envt, I could just travel to the home office when needed.
Any 🐠 have experience with negotiating a different office after receiving a verbal offer? I definitely would like to accept, but I won't be able to relocate.
Any recommendations for a compact home office printer that is wireless and easy to maintain?
Thanks in advance!
I know there have been lots of posts on Herman Miller Aeron, etc. but any recommendations for an office chair that will be comfortable for long work days but not be an eyesore in the middle of my apartment? Standard office desk chair will feel out of place with surrounding decor, but more design-oriented options are basically dining chairs that will kill my back with 12-14 hour days. Help!
Hi all. I have a medical condition (scoliosis). I have been told through a health assessment and psychotherapist that I need to purchase an ergonomic chair. My work have said they will provide me with a loan, but will not cover any expenses of it. My physiotherapist said that they should expense an amount of the chair as it is a reasonable adjustment for a medical condition. Any ideas on this and how I can go about trying to get some of it expenses? Thanks :)
Setting up a home office. Any suggestions of a quality sitting/standing desk? Also looking for a good chair. Willing to spend around $1,200 for the both.
If I applied for reciprocity license for my home office as I moved across the state, do I need to maintain both initial and current CPA active or I just need to make sure I comply with current/reciprocal board requirement?
Recruiting for consulting and wondering if there are instances to work at firms but live away from you home office. Specifically speaking to the firms that are not a local model. I’m trying to balance living in a smaller city near family but there are no firms in that city. Any insight or advice appreciated! Thanks!
Has anyone switched to a standing desk? Do you feel more productive? Was it worth it? Did you switch at the office or at your home?
My partner and I sit across from each other in our home office. We each spend our days berating / talking our clients down off the ledge on the phone. Problem: the sound from each other’s calls tramples over the other person’s calls.
Recommendations on a good sound barrier/proofing/absorbing solution or approach?
Just bought a second monitor so i could work from home. You think i can get that reimbursed?
Quick survey: what office chair are people using in their work from home setup? Looking to buy a new one.
Really love exercise/ lifting but already feel the routine starting to slip with work. Any insight on what works? Looking to go far beyond walking during meetings and having a standing desk lol
Finally caving and getting a standing desk from autonomous. Anyone got any discount codes?
Any 🐠 living in a different state than their "home" office? Would like to hear about your experiences around traveling to the office for firm events or having local clients (pre-COVID) or even now if you have started travelling again. TIA!
Hello folks! I am in the market for an ergonomic SILENT click mouse that doesn’t strain the wrist or the thumb. Looking for something that won’t get my hands tired especially during tax seasons. Any suggestions/links will be super helpful.
Just bought myself a home office 💁♂️
Anyone meet clients at home?
I'm an RIA, and my home office is much nicer than my office. Unfortunately it doesn't have a separate entrance and you have to walk through the living room/kitchen.
If my home office is NYC but I live in Michigan while working on a remote project how will I be taxed? My understanding is that “productive” time worked will be taxed by Michigan and “unproductive” time like PTO and bonuses will be taxed by both NYC and Michigan. Is this right and will I make more living in MI or NYC? (Ignoring cost of living)

I’m an avid believer in not telling baby names until the baby is born to anyone. For ex, I didn’t want to tell my daughter’s name even to the nurses until she was born. This time around we decided on the middle name being after my husband’s gpa. We know it’s going to be a huge deal to everyone in his family, but we want to give his gma a heads up out of curiosity for her. I’m due in 9ish weeks. He wants to tell her in the next month before he’s born. I’m a little nervous it will get leaked

Salary cuts - everyone at our firm recently had their salaries reduced to weather the crisis. By all accounts, the firm has had its best years on record the last two years. Cont’d...
I have 7 YOE in consulting (Finance Transformation/ ERP implementation) and recently exited to industry. Now working as a program manager in CFO office. I want to go back to consulting. Its easy for me to be a M in a 4big and okay to be a senior consultant in a MBB. Since i don't have much strategy experience... What should be my level in Strategy & / EY-P or Kearney? Should I go for a senior associate position in those? (I'm targeting those since it's relatively easier to get in)
We're lucky to be in the top 1 and 2%... yes, we deal with high levels of stress and bullshit but there are many who would kill to be us, so remember that. Glass half full, people. #peptalkover 😎
Applied for an SM position at pwc and interviewers mentioned that it is for an SM position as well. But the offer came out as M. Recruiter said it is just a title and doesn’t have any implications but more I look, it does look like an downgrade. Is this common? I am currently an SM and it is in tech consulting area.
Hey if anyone else is anxious about the onslaught of work tomorrow, you’re not alone and you’ll get through the day 😊 this too shall pass. I promise you have colleagues that feel the same way.
AVP comp at genpact?
Trying to determine if I’m compensate fairly as year end reviews are coming up. I’m in federal consulting, in DC, 1.5 YOE right out of undergrad, work on average 60 hours a week on two client projects, one of which I’m the only FTE and more or less leading. How much do you think I should be making?
Is there a opinion/brief/memo that you have read and thought to yourself, “Wow. That argument was clearly conveyed and well delivered?”
I’m in need of great writing samples and inspiration. I’d like to learn from them.
29F going in to the office tomorrow for the first time (I started remote) and I’m extremely anxious because I’ve gained ~35 lbs in the last 6 months and am scared to meet new people. For context I was already 25 lbs overweight so now I am honestly just very very overweight/probably obese. So far on Zoom this hasn’t mattered because nobody can see anything… I feel crazy asking this but any tips for how to feel confident? I have honestly forgotten how to project confidence in the office
