700. 730 to be really safe

Lol ^not true. #DontBeADbag

700 was a fine safety for Hispanics this year. It could also get you in top 3.

700 but get a 720 if you want a good shot at MBB. Also make sure you you look at NSHMBA or consortium

Agree w A2. MBB places a lot of weight on GMAT. Wish I knew that 3 years ago.

Thoughts on gre for mbb? Heading into a top 10 program this year and used my gre (338, 790 gmat equivalent). Will that be looked on in the same way by mbb? Didn't take the gmat at all and didn't realize until now they even looked at gmat

Would take the gmat just for recruiting if need be

720+, and then 3-5 years of experience...

Perfect score (for MCKinsey at least)

Thoughts on Cambridge University for an MBA?

I am American and will likely be sponsored by my firm. I like that I would only be out of the workforce for 1 year.

I see some MBAs (esp. lower ranking ones) come with a high % of self seeking jobs. In this case, is the MBA still that valuable?

Which mba programs are considered the most prestigious internationally, not just US? I know it's at least HSW, MIT, LBS, and INSEAD. Any others?

Interested in potentially starting a business overseas post mba so I'm curious which brand name holds the most weight outside of US.

Would you give a MBA recommendation to someone who has worked for you for a year and then left your firm/company?

Thinking to embark on MBA journey. Haven’t started prepping for GMAT yet. Background- UG and Masters in Economics from India (3.6 and 3.9) , 2.5 YOE in Big 4 in India and 2 YOE in US (FBO- Model Development Profile both firms), got promoted in both firms. No ECs as such except high school and senior school. Aiming for a realistic 730 on GMAT (760 in best case scenario). Solid Recs.Reason for MBA- want to move from middle office to Corporate Banking or IB. What are my Chances. Female&Indian.

Hi Fishes,

Can anyone provide any advice on pivoting careers? I’ve been in collections for 1.5 yrs making 55k but I feel like I can be doing and making more. I graduated a year ago majoring in econ and minoring in cs, so potential roles of interest would be FP & A and BA or even a low - code position as I do have some experience in python, css, and html. Would taking a certification help in getting my foot through the door or is it not necessary? internship experience ( finance intern & sales associate).

Can you lateral from pre MBA T2 Associate to MBB Associate/Consultant?

Is an MBA from a big10 school worth it for someone in security? Justification for MBA is to get into upper management and become more business savvy

Anybody getting a master's or MBA online or part time? Where you at and what are your thoughts?

Strategy& folks, what is the salary range for a first year Senior Manager that joined post top MBA and has 3-5 YOE in consulting? Anything would be helpful, thanks!!

Anyone in venture capital? I’m a pre-MBA and thinking more about jumping over. Would love to hear thoughts!

How much does school ranking really matter for grad programs? For context, looking at MBA/MPH programs and finding that there are very few schools, esp. with dual degree programs, that are ranked highly in both. Most are reputable schools with well-respected names.

I find it annoying and funny at the same time when SM/Partners ask for expertise in an area when staffing a project. If that is what you want stop hiring generalists from MBA programs.

Doe it make sense to invest in a 529 plan to pay for MBA? Thinking of applying in 2-3 years

Aside from an MBA, what are some good courses/certs/quals for consulting?

Hey folks need some advice. I am a software engineering earning pretty good with respect to my country's standards.
However I want to be in high impact management roles where I make important decisions instead of just building software. I see one way to get it is an MBA from top college in US but that comes with high cost especially compared to MS in CS . However both MS and MBA offers jobs with similar compensation.
Given the above situation I am not sure if MBA is the best option or not.
