Depends on where you live and how dry your hair is. I have oily skin so I used to use matte clay (holy black is the best out there - boutique brand available online). Now that I've moved to a desert with super hard water, my hair gets so dry that the matte clay looks like frizzy shit. I've started using a store brand argan oil followed by layrite classic pomade an that keeps everything good.
