I was you and it sucked. I tried so hard to hold boundaries - leave work at 5pm, not take any later meetings, spend time with my baby and try to not hate my husband (med resident so basically never around), outsource all housework and cooking - but would pick my laptop back up at 8pm and work until 12-2am almost everyday. It was not sustainable and 6 months after returning to work, I moved to the client side and have never looked back.
If I could go back I would do it differently, actually hold firm on no work after hours and make sure that I have conversations early and often with teams so they understand. Only pick teams that respect the boundary or do whatever I need to to get out on lower burn projects, who cares if its not a perfect fit in terms of interests or career development. It is ok to make being the best mom your top priority and work second, if that’s what you want, for a set time period. Have the discussion with your husband and get more support where you can.
To top it off, I’ve had to pull the baby out of daycare for over a week because he caught RSV and working from home with a sick baby is a nightmare. Even with my mom in town to help out.
I’ve cried almost everyday for the past 3 weeks.
Then, I feel guilty because I’m already so consumed in work that I can’t spend quality time with my baby for the few hours he is home.
I’m overwhelmed, and tired. Being a working mom is hard!

Not sure how old your kid is but we found if you can afford it, a nanny is generally less disruptive because you don’t have the constant sickness. More broadly I’ve found this job is sustainable only part of the time. I have months at a time where I feel consumed by work and I do nothing but work or take care of my kids. I candidly am probably getting close to the end of my rope.
Left client work. Get to control my schedule a lot more.
Firms have interesting and challenging internal roles - B4 is a big business like anywhere else. Look around and see if anything appeals to you; it can be an easier transition than going straight out to industry.
You could request to look for an internal role - the work load is the same or more , but you may get some flexibility compared to client service depending !!
