What are you doing to move the needle on diversity and inclusion as a senior member at your firm? Do you think your firm has a culture unfavorable to women and minorities? Are you a mentor to any?

Desi women, how much do you spend for self care? I realize that self care is not really a part of desi culture, and most older women I know (including my mom) are aging gracefully with minimal upkeep. If there is upkeep, it’s very natural/Ayurvedic.
I’m 30, and I spend $$ for laser, Botox, fillers, lashes, hair care. But now I’m starting to feel guilty and feel like that money could be used better. But I also feel like having a good appearance is important. Can anyone relate?

Is it good to switch from Deloitte to a mid tier firm like Brillio/Coforge/EPAM/Nagarro etc. ?
I mean I like the consulting culture and benefits, though sometimes onsite are lower..
I'm in a situation where I don't want to switch more, At least in the next 4-5 years I want to build my career and have a decent work life balance as well.
I would have probably preferred to stayback in Deloitte US or go to Consulting firms like KPMG/EY/Huron/Protivitti. May be lucky not working at this time.
Working in Japan and as with many companies here, the company I just joined is also very waterfall-based approach + business side having a huge say on everything (tech/PMs are just quiet). It’s just a lot of rambling with slow progress; we’re already behind schedule. Any good way to change this culture/ advices?

Split classes take away joy! We have 6-7 classes at each grade level and they split 1-2 into the remaining 5 so we can have a 5 day schedule. Big classes plus the classroom culture homeroom teachers work so hard to achieve are ruined. Advice? (Plus we are told to "not be negative" by admin.)

Winter vacation ideas, solo female traveler. Want to go somewhere warm/beach and open to anywhere. My preference is to be based in one place and do some day trips, ie not traveling extensively and changing hotels every few days.
Joined 2nd week in TCS and I’ve received payslip, where the basic pay varies, it’s lesser than what’s mentioned in the offer letter. So it is lesser because I joined late? Can anyone clarify?
Idk if I'm alone on this, but its absolutely cringe when teachers, especially female teachers refer to their students as their babies.

First time pregnancy here (18 weeks only). Doctor told me usually baby kicks are very minor at around 20 weeks, but my baby moves around so much, especially after I drink tap water (cold but without ice). She can already wake me up during sleep. I'm scared she'll go even crazier in my third trimester. Anyone experienced crazy baby kicks in 2nd trimester? Anything wrong?
My son just turned one last month and isn’t yet having 3 meals a day. He likes to snack here and there? Is any other momma experiencing this? I want to make sure he’s getting the proper nutrients. Help!
I am a military spouse/government employee with a clearance on LWOP until 2024. I would like to start gathering ideas for what to do in case I need to enroll in schools or get new certifications. I am torn between going back to my job, getting decent money but it's not something I love and the career progression will be limited. Or do I find something I am more passionate about with less money? Or find a contracting job with flexibility and better pay? Any insight is appreciated and welcome.
Has anyone become friends with their pediatrician or OB? Both of mine seem like awesome people and I’d love to be friends with them but wondering if that’s weird and crossing boundaries.
What are some of the venues for a 3 yo bday party? We have 20+ guests and our house could be small so we are planning to rent a place indoor for a January bday. How do you guys manage decorations etc. logistics?
Ever since having kids I wake up in the middle of the night and can’t go back to sleep. For example, if I hit the hay at 9pm then wake up at 1:45am, will probably go back to bed at 5am. Kids sleep the whole time, though my 4 year old comes in our bed. Am I alone in this? How do I solve my problem? Have blackouts, hit 10k+ steps most days, cut coffee off by 3pm. Help!
It’s the first time my 15 month old has a really bad cough and cold. Of course this happens on the launch day for one of my clients and I have to work from 6:30-5 and leave her with the nanny. I can’t help but get SUPER nervous each time I hear her cough- it’s mucusy and sounds wet and with her stuffed nose I’m worried about her breathing. Tips and advice? Anything I should be doing for her? What can help me not drive myself insane with worry?
How do you nicely tell your parents/in-laws/etc. to butt out when you're parenting your kids? Ex. My mom bought shoes for my daughter for a vacation and after making sure they fit, she wanted to keep them on. I told her no and she started to cry and throw a little hissy fit. My MIL said it's fine, she can wear them around the house. And then said, "for a couple of minutes." My husband didn't say anything and I hate confrontation but this isn't the first time this has happened.
Realistically, does a baby’s ability to sleep long stretches at night just depend on the baby and not so much what the parents do? Everyone I talk to has such wildly different experiences with sleep and tbh it mostly seems random
Planning an international trip with my spouse and LO under 1 years old. Any thoughts about best time to travel (eg 6 months vs 10 mons)?
I make more than my husband right now with a total household income of 260k. He is in school and once he’s done our household income will increase to 450-500k (we’re four years away from that) if I continue to work full time. He mentioned that he constantly worries about money and it makes me so sad that even with our current income (which I’m totally happy with and don’t feel like we have to sacrifice on our lives really) that he feels like we don’t have enough. How can I make him worry less ?
help!!!! My 15 month old is about to start daycare- has anyone been in this boat? She’s super clingy with me right now and has not been to daycare before. What can I do to make this transition easier for her?
I just got offered a new job which I’m going to accept. I currently pump three times at work how do I bring that up? Do I tell the recruiter, tell the manager on my first day. 🤷🏻♀️
There were 3 COVID positive cases in the infant room at daycare and it’s closed for 2 weeks. This is the second time that it’s happened this year. Deloitte offers backup care but we have to wait until we get our negative test results first. Baby girl seems fine but it’s better to be safe than sorry. Work is going to be challenging for the next few days since my husband and I both have demanding jobs.
