Mamas with more than one kid, what’s the age gap between your children? And now that you’ve experienced it, do you think a different age gap would have been better?
I had my first a few months ago, and while I was sure I’d be one and done, the maternal feeling is now on overdrive 🙃 I’m wondering what would be a good time to try for a second.
I am 38, and the first baby came after two miscarriages so my chances are not great (especially chances of a planned age gap) But it doesn’t hurt to hope 😊
Kid 1 to kid 2, 3 year gap
Kid 2 to Kid 3, 2 year gap
Kid 3 to kid 4, 12 minute gap
The gaps work well for me, but it’s hard to imagine anything different.
I too had 2 miscarriages before my first son was born. I was grateful to get pregnant and deliver successfully, but doubtful we’d have more bc of infertility problems. We had 2 more sons.
Kid 1 to kid 2, 2 year gap
Kid 2 to kid 3- 3 year gap
They played together (and fought) when younger, but now that they’re in their 20s, their relationship with each other is super close. We weren’t necessarily expecting that they’d be this close. It’s nice to see.

We have two, about 2.5 years between. It was really nice being able to explain with words to the toddler that a baby was coming, and then use words to explain how much we still love him just as much, etc. It is so sweet seeing them together, he loves his little sis so much. But that said, we probably would have rolled with it no matter what.
3.5 years and love it. Older one is independent enough to do basic tasks on his own but still wants to play with the younger one.

Kid 1 to 2, two years 1 month
Kid 2 to 3, 15 months
I’m racing to get them all to over 5years as I’m assuming it gets easier then; less constant watching.
Really, age gap management is irrelevant as very few people can control these things.
