Just completed my first week at Deloitte and finished setting up my DPN profile , completd my mandatory trainings etc. I've left my resource manager an IM , he's been MIA. How long before someone reaches out to me for assignment to a project. I don't have project assigned to me and no coach yet . Is this normal ? What's the typical time frame after hiring to get assigned to project. It feels extremely weird not to have a client assigned or not be actively pursuing one.

Has anyone had trouble finding an ob gyn? I just moved to my area and the recommended ob gyns are fully booked. The first date I can schedule is not until I'm 20+ weeks along. Would you just go to a lower rated ob (taking 2 out of 5 stars on Yelp) the first few weeks and then switch when you are able?

Interviewed for S&O role and wanted to share. Recruiter told me to expect problem solving and stakeholder comm, behavioral and case type questions… It ended up being one 25-min interviewee-led case. I was surprised given all that I had read online about RRK and GCA and Googleyness and the pride Google has in its “unbiased”interview process… it felt like any other MBB interview where your case interviewer decides your fate… guess S&O is just like any consulting firm…

How to convert a 12 month contract to a full time role? Asking for a friend, hasn’t started yet. They got contacted by a recruiter and will be employed by Google directly (not via consultancy etc)

Currently going through the hiring process for a role in San Francisco. They told me the starting base was $110K, but this sounds like pennies in a city like San Francisco! I am concerned that if I make it through I’ll basically be poor in such an expensive city, not to mention the taxes. I also have a baby so child care I am sure is expensive. PSA: when asking questions, mentioning role, geo and level helps others give a more informed answer. The process for SWE differs vastly from CE or PgM or finance roles. Levels play a role but are generally optional (unless it’s regarding comp). Geo can help esp for non-US stuff, and on team match difficulties.
