I need a career mentor for the tech industry!!!
Does anybody have any advice when applying to postings with many applicants and getting noticed? The company I am interested in is Figma, and though I reached out to a few technical recruiters after applying through LinkedIn, I am wondering if there might be something more I could do that maybe I’m not thinking about. Also along those lines, if anybody here works for figma I would love the chance to connect

Q: for FAANG recruiters, do candidates get a reject stamp after failing even at the later stages?
I advanced to the last stage at Facebook (Meta) around a year ago but failed on my last interview, a combination of not being familiar with the process and not having chemistry with the interviewer.
A friend who is a hiring manager recently recommended me and this time without even a HR call I received a straight up thanks but no thanks email.
Does this mean I’ve been permanently black listed?

This is literally killing me emotionally. I question everything after receiving 6 months of ghosting by recruiters. In these scenarios I may interview once, twice, even six times with one particular company. I have no more mental energy.
When I check my status on the applicant tracking system it states “Interview.” Either they aren’t updating statuses or keeping me around in case who they really want doesn’t pan out. I have no clue. I’m sorry this is happening to both of us.
I'm so sorry that happened. I hate when recruiters to that--I understand that talk to a lot more people everyday than I do but still.
Totally agreed, I understand it might slip out of mind once, but ignoring follow up emails requesting status update reflects poorly on them and the company
It's like dating, but more expensive of a loss.
Agreed it’s like dating, but when a candidate is interviewing and has already completed 2 rounds investing 3+ hours, while taking time off from current job, a closure is a good work ethic.
Right! How hard is it to send a generic response at least?
Lack of work ethics is the answer
